On Wednesday, in an interview with Fox News's "Fox & Friends" program, Representative Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic discussed the ongoing investigation into the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the apparent attempts to conceal communications and government records from Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests

In the course of his statements, Rep. Wenstrup expressed concern over what appears to be a cover-up.

In a nutshell, if we're going to go into detail, it's just the ability of the agencies or, seemingly, their attempts to try and hide the things that they're doing, their lack of transparency and, really, the things that they were doing to try and deceive the American people are so appalling to me that it's really hard, and as you saw in the last couple of weeks, both sides of the aisle were very upset with this. But if you look into Dr. David Morens' gmails, he was telling other people, "Write me on my gmail so I don't get FOIAed." Well, the fact of the matter is that we did get that information.

The information obtained, as we saw in previous pieces on this issue, appears to paint a very clear picture of an attempt to conceal information from Congress and the American people.

Rep. Wenstrup also implied that none other than Dr. Anthony Fauci was aware of what was transpiring, asking, in essence, what did he know, and when did he know it:

But you know we wrote NIH three times last year to get the documents, and it took a subpoena in April. So Dr. Morens talks about, "Before they actually do a search, I know how to delete them, and if you misspell words they won't be found, but the fact is, we still got them. And he was doing things that were so incredible, and so revealing, when you see him saying that Tony Fauci's aware of what's going on, but he's making every effort to steer away from doing any damage to EcoHealth Alliance, who was just debarred by the federal government and so is Peter Daszak, their president. Don't want to do any damage to EcoHealth Alliance and therefore also protect NIH and also (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) NIAID, and he said things like "I believe that efforts are underway to protect you at EcoHealth Alliance."

EcoHealth Alliance, led by Dr. Peter Daszak, had ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and was the only American organization researching coronaviruses and their evolution and transmission in China. They are known to have partnered with WIV in this research. In May, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services stripped all federal funding from EcoHealth Alliance.

It remains to be seen who, if anyone, from EcoHealth Alliance, NIH, or NIAID will be held accountable for working with China's Wuhan Institute of Virology or for their attempts to conceal information from Congress and the American people.
