President Joe Biden's pardon of his son Hunter has created quite the whirlwind, with people from all quarters weighing in on both sides of the issue, and many upset about Biden's lying on the issue, insisting he would never pardon his son.
Even White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who has come up with all kinds of justifications for Biden over her time at the White House, had some difficulty trying to spin this one.
Late-night host Jon Stewart just nuked it in a truly funny bit as he decimated the hypocrisy of the Democrats.

But in the midst of all that comes a wild side story.
Shaun Maguire is a partner at the venture capital firm Sequoia. He has also been an interesting person to watch on X over the past several months as he's been open about his political evolution, one that is in some ways similar to that of Elon Musk.
He blasted the pardon. But he also had an interesting personal comment to add about it.
So what happens to the $300k+ in back pay rent that Hunter Biden owes my family from 2019-2020?

Is that pardoned now?
Thanks Joe
(This is a true story)
A federal pardon is not going to excuse civil obligations that Hunter Biden might owe a landlord. I think he knows, but he's making a point, although there could be a problem pursuing it based on the statute of limitations.
But what was truly funny was what Maguire said next about how Hunter allegedly proposed to pay what he owed.
"Hunter was our tenant in Venice, CA. Didn't pay rent for over a year. Tried to pay w/ art made from his own feces. Absolute sā bag," Maguire wrote, adding in a follow up post that the rent was $25,000 a month for the house, which is located on the canals in Venice, California.
He added that Hunter "changed the locks and used secret service to enforce. We had no access to the property."
When he was asked about the possibility of evicting him, Maguire replied they were "kind of a scary family to go after."
Doesn't that say it all when Hunter tries to pay his rent like that? Who even thinks like that? And now that his father is no longer going to be in office, the price of his "art" is likely to take a dive. So, he probably won't be able to try such bizarre moves in the future. The Bidens are finally going to have to deal with the reality of Joe not being in office anymore and no longer having that influence.
This isn't even the first instance of Hunter reportedly having problems paying the rent.

We wrote last year about the report involving the home of Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman in Venice Beach. Hunter rented the home but allegedly left it in "disarray" with $80,000 owed in rent. That home also rented for $25,000 a month. In that case, the stereo equipment in the home was allegedly destroyed.
