#1 - Bill Maher Gives His First Impressions of Trump Dinner, and the Left Won't Like It — by Becky Noble
No one expects Maher to come on his show wearing a MAGA hat. But Maher is known for calling out the left as well as the right, and this appeared to be more intellectual honesty from the comedian. There also isn't anyone who thinks that Maher is going to stop ripping Trump for his policies, most of which he disagrees with. But will he maybe go a little bit easier on any personal attacks? Time will tell.
Bill Maher has been a hero to many on the left, joining in on their Trump hatred. So, what kind of reaction to his positive comments on Trump will he get from them? They will no doubt be met with Maher's trademark, to put it politely...indifference. Maher tweeted out that he will reveal more details about the dinner on his show that will air on April 11.
#2 - This Tim Walz Thing Is Starting to Get Weird — by Bonchie
Walz couldn't even manage to beat out Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), one of the most unlikable, unserious people in the Democratic Party. Joseph Robinette Biden, who had to end his presidential re-election campaign because he was barely sentient, is still seen as more of a leader than Tim Walz.
So again, I ask, what exactly are we doing here? Who wants this? And who is funding it? After all, these events aren't paying for themselves. Someone is throwing down cash for venues and advertising. Are there really donors out there who think Walz has a shot at being president? The other possible explanation is that this is about a Minnesota senatorial run in 2026, but wouldn't that suggest the need to campaign in, you know, Minnesota?
#3 - Top US Commander in Greenland Disavows Trump's Position to US and Danish Troops — by streiff
On Tuesday, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had fired Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield as the top US representative to NATO's military committee "due to a loss of confidence in her ability to lead." According to unofficial sources (Pentagon Spox Teaches Jasmine Crockett a Lesson After Her Jaw-Dropping Remarks on Admiral's Firing – RedState), she had refused to put up pictures of President Trump and Secretary Hegseth in NATO headquarters, saying, "We will wait them out four years."
I can't imagine Colonel Meyers being in command much longer. She was under no moral, legal, or ethical obligation to defend Vance's remarks, but she was under an obligation not to comment negatively on them. Not only did she do so to all base personnel, an action that more likely than not violated Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. When she included Danish military personnel on the email distribution list, she definitely crossed a line that should cost her her commission.
#4 - Left Has a Meltdown After White House Moves Pic of Obama, Replaces It With Much More Powerful One — by Nick Arama
The Obama portrait was still there, just positioned elsewhere in the Entrance Hall. And as even The Hill acknowledged, it's "not unusual for the presidential portraits at the White House to be rearranged after a new commander in chief enters the Oval Office." But what a huge improvement for that prominent area in the Entrance Hall.
Some on the left were also upset Obama was replaced by the "fake" assassination portrait. Yes, that's what they think. There's a whole contingent on the left on social media who think the assassination was fake/staged. They think it was all about doing it to have such a photo for the White House. I know, it doesn't make any sense.
#5 - Bondi Suspends Attorney Who Threw the Trump Administration Under the Bus at Deportation Hearing — by streiff
This isn't hard. Working for DOJ shouldn't be like playing AYSO soccer. There shouldn't be participation trophies, and not every game ends with free snacks. It seems like the bad old ways in the DOJ went underground for a while but are now reemerging, and Reuveni was in the wrong place at the wrong time, saying the wrong thing. The seriousness of the affair is underscored by Reuveni's supervisor getting hammered even though he signed the combative brief opposing the judge's "bring him back" order on Saturday. This seems calculated to send a message that it isn't enough that you personally are getting with the new program; you are responsible for bringing your attorneys along with you.
