Feds Raid Alaska Couple's Home With Guns Drawn, Looking for Pelosi Laptop

Marilyn Hueper and her husband Paul, who own the Homer Inn and Spa in Homer, Alaska, were more than a little surprised when federal agents broke down the door to their home this week, according to Fox News.

‘Well, you probably know why we’re here,’ Hueper said the agents told her last Wednesday, the Anchorage Daily News reported, to which she replied that no, they really didn’t. The agents then said, “We’re here for Nancy Pelosi’s laptop.” The laptop was reportedly taken during the Capitol riot.

Hueper asked why hadn’t they just knocked on her door and asked? The agents claimed they had knocked on the door, but no one answered.

About a dozen federal officers, including FBI agents and an officer with the Capitol Police, then searched the home for about four hours. She said her husband’s cellphone was “forensically audited,” but not seized. The federal officers did seize laptops and a cellphone. They also handcuffed her, her husband, and their guests during the search.

Now Hueper says she was at the Trump rally earlier on Jan. 6, but wasn’t part of the riot and didn’t go into the Capitol building. But somehow the federal agents thought that she had something to do with it.

Marilyn Hueper said agents showed her a picture of a woman who had been involved in the Capitol riot who looked like her, but that wasn’t her. Other photos, she said, made it clear it wasn’t her. She said they asked her who she was working with, at which she laughed. She said she didn’t mean to be “disrespectful” but the situation was just so “surreal.”

According to the Washington Examiner, the agents had their guns drawn when they broke down the Huepers’ door.

Here’s the picture she says the agents showed her, which is also listed on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” page of people the FBI is still looking for in regard to the riot.

According to the Daily Mail, Hueper said that the woman was wearing a sweater that she would never own and had detached earlobes.

The federal agents made no arrests in relation to the search at their home.

On top of that, a 22-year-old woman in Pennsylvania, Riley Williams, was arrested allegedly in connection with the laptop theft in January, according to the AP. Her booking photo in the AP story also doesn’t look like the wanted picture shown above either, but the FBI claims they have video of Williams going in and out of Pelosi’s office, according to the AP. We reported on the odd allegations made in regard to that woman by the FBI.

The laptop that’s the focus of all the attention supposedly was only used for presentations, the AP reports, citing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff, Drew Hamill. But it seems like a great deal of attention to finding it, when Pelosi’s people seem to be downplaying the importance of it. But the search of the Huepers’ home does make clear that Pelosi’s laptop is still missing.

Hueper said she thought it was “funny” that they wanted to go after her when she was actually “lost, eating hot dogs at the other end of the Mall,” she said, according to Fox.

People expressed concern about how the agents were able to get a warrant under the circumstances.
