Hillary Clinton is an old woman who is inept with technology. She’s helpless and stumbles along with help from Huma Abedin (her, uh, personal assistant).
>New information has come out that suggests how Clinton worked around her problems with a fax machine.
Hillary Clinton didn’t know how to receive a fax. She literally had to be walked through it step by step by Abedin. Apparently they got too exasperated, because it’s now come out that she set up a printer accessible over the Internet:
According to historic Internet address maps stored by San Mateo, Calif. based Farsight Security, among the handful of Internet addresses historically assigned to the domain “clintonemail.com” was the numeric address 24.187.234.188. The subdomain attached to that Internet address was….wait for it…. “printer.clintonemail.com“.
Brian Krebs seems to be painting this as a simple oversight, implying it was accidental that her printer was accessible over the Internet, and that documents she chose to print over it were insecure by some boneheaded oversight. But I suspect it was actually intentional and worse than he realizes.
Given that we have evidence, from early in her term as Secretary of State, that she couldn’t receive faxes, I conclude she had her printer on the Internet to allow Abedin and others at State to send her documents at home. So these documents were sniffable by foreign agents, because she was either too inept or too lazy to learn how to do things the right way.
Hillary Clinton simply didn’t care about being Secretary of State, and was too lazy even to phone it in. So she had it printed to her instead.
