Let's just cut to the chase.
The Democrat Party has for decades declared itself to be the party of various causes, only to make a mockery out of every one of those declarations.
From "the party of children" (yet it supports on-demand abortion of healthy babies, in some cases up to what would have been the moment of birth) to "the party of women" (yet it supports so-called "trans" rights over women's rights, including in sports) to "the party of ethics," which the Democrat Party is anything but.
This op-ed is about the Democrats' definition of "ethics," which I'll define by what they do and support — not by what they say for the consumption of low-information Democrat voters, some of whom are intentionally low-information.
We need only to look at the goings-on during the Biden-Harris administration as a perfect example.
Let's first revisit the case of outgoing Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. Susan Wild, who violated the rules and oath of the House Ethics Committee by leaking information to the media earlier in December. Wild leaked information about the House investigation into former Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, who in late November withdrew his nomination as President-elect Donald Trump's attorney general.
Noted law professor and political commentator Jonathan Turley wrote that "Wild embodies the collapsing ethical foundation of the Democratic Party as members struggle to justify the Biden pardon." (More on the infamous pardon to come.)
"If news reports are accurate," Turley wrote, "Wild appears to have given our students a curious ethical lesson in how not to be a lawyer or legislator."

The lesson to be learned here (by those not already familiar with it) is that we're talking about the House Ethics Committee, of which Wild is a member.
As Turley noted, Wild also took an oath as a member of Congress that “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will not disclose, to any person or entity outside the Committee on Ethics, any information received in the course of my service with the Committee, except as authorized by the Committee or in accordance with its rules.”
Translation (in Wild's case): "... unless I can torpedo Trump' or one of his nominations..."
Wild of course is not the Lone Ranger among Democrat politicians who lack ethics. Within nanoseconds of Joe Biden's announcement that he had issued a full and unconditional pardon for his son Hunter after pledging (lying) for months that he wouldn't do so, Democrats and their sycophantic sock puppets in the media lined up to defend the controversial pardon, including by concocting ridiculous reasons why it was justified — leaving ethics nowhere to be found.
This brings us to Biden himself.
'Biden's Lack of Ethics Surprised No One'
Where to begin? During his more than 50 years in Washington, Joe Biden has been a serial liar, a plagiarist, and a man who rushes to take credit that others deserve while passing the buck at every unethical opportunity.
Turley summed up Biden's pardon thusly:
The President issued the pardon after repeatedly lying to the public when he was a candidate that he would never do so. In the previous election, Biden [also] lied to the public about not having met Hunter Biden’s clients or having knowledge of his dealings in the influence-peddling scandal.
Biden’s lack of ethics surprised no one. However, even today, the support that he received from Democratic leaders over the pardon has been shocking. Sen. Dick Durbin (D., Ill.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Senate majority whip, even called it a “labor of love.”

The distorted view of ethics in the Democratic Party was vividly on display during an embarrassing moment recently at the White House when Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that a poll showed “64% of the American people agree with the pardon — 64% of the American people. So, we get a sense of where the American people are on this.”
That poll actually showed the majority of Americans opposed the pardon. Yet, it was 64 percent of Democrats who favored a president giving his own son a pardon.
Again, raise your hand if you're shocked.
Whether today's easily-enraged Democrats are mostly affected by Trump Derangement Syndrome, the realization that even "moderate" Democrats have willingly been taken hostage by the radical left-wing faction of the party, or self-loathing, the party has reached a level of rage where the end justifies the means.
When Democrats lose, their first inclination is to cheat. When cheating doesn't get the job done, they want to change the rules — such as eliminating the Electoral College, stacking the Supreme Court, or changing U.S. immigration laws. It's who they are; it's what they do.
As Turley put it, whatever Democrats want can't be defined as "wrongful ends" — in their minds, that is. Therefore, the "by any means necessary" mantra is part and parcel of the party's foundation. We've seen it for at least six decades, and it's only accelerated since (during) the administration of Barack Obama.
I think I'll just leave it here — for now.
