One of the major symptoms of the delusional among us who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome is their inability to feel joy like the rest of us. The reason is, of course, because Trump exists. While those afflicted with TDS are always miserable in their hatred of the president-elect, their dejection is especially cruel during the Christmas season.
This brings us to Monday's episode of ABC's ridiculous show, "The View."
Fake-Republican co-host Ana Navarro duked it out with moderator Whoopi Goldberg by continuing to declare that no one could possibly be happy and merry during Christmas because the devil incarnate is about to become president again.
Let the yelling begin!
Navarro kicked off the festivities by thanking God for former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney (emphasis, mine).
First of all, thank God for Liz Cheney. Yesterday she put out a very strong statement condemning what Donald Trump had said. And I kind of felt like, you know, like that song, it's like our nation turns its lonely eyes to you; because she's not trekking to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring. She's not going into, you know, deep hiding and in silence. She's not changing her tune all of a sudden.
Raise your hand if you're crestfallen over Liz Cheney not trekking to Mar-a-Lago to kiss Trump's ring.
The more Navarro spewed, the more wound up she became.
[H}e's appointing people who are 100 percent loyal to him and who know that if they want to keep their jobs, they have to do what he wants them to do. So, when Donald Trump says something, believe him, people! Believe him. There's nothing to wait for!
Now raise your hand if you don't believe that every president appoints people he believes will be 100 percent loyal to him, and if they're not, that they will lose their jobs.
Enter, Whoopi:
[Trump] makes lots and lots and lots of noise. He says he's going to do all these things, and he does this, and I say this —I try to say it at least once a week. He does this to keep you all in a panic. [Shakes her arms in the air and convulses] He does it to make y'all do this and talk about him and it's so terrible.
All we have to do from now until January 21st is be with our families, be with our kids, do our jobs, make sure our checks don't bounce, make sure that we are taking care of ourselves and our families. Whatever he's going to do, he's going to do, but do take our word for it.
Things seem to move slowly. Because yeah, they didn't come get Hillary, but he has other people who are ready to go, but I don't think that they can just go out and do what they want to do.
Navarro was now incensed: "I told you last week I disagree when you when you say that because—"
Whoopi cut her off: "I know."
"No!" Navarro yelled.
Because we have the luxury of saying that because we're legal, we are successful, we are—
Whoopi tried again to cut Navarro off, but she kept yelling.
If you are an illegal immigrant in this country, you're not going to be not in panic! If you are a woman working for the Department of Defense, you have a right to be in a panic!
Did I mention that Navarro was ticked off? Back and forth they went.
GOLDBERG: Ana, you tell people to say fraught and like this! That is not --
NAVARRO: No, I'm telling people to prepare, Whoopi! I'm telling people to prepare!
GOLDBERG: You think they aren't prepared? They are prepared. I’m saying to people –
NAVARRO: So, that means they can't be relaxing and enjoying Christmas when winter is coming!
GOLDBERG: No, it doesn’t mean that! You know what? I'm sorry.
NAVARRO: I mean, I disagree!
GOLDBERG: Winter is – Babe, winter is here! Winter has been with us! And my point is we can lay down and do nothing for the next 15 days and be freak out for the next four or two years. But my point—
NAVARRO: Yeah, but my point to you is we are in a privileged position that a lot of people are going to be under his attack are not!
GOLDBERG: I have a family who is going through the same thing! Ana, calm down!
Awesome, right?
Finally, Whoopi said:
Do what you have to do! Take care of your family, and when we know what is happening, and we know what we're fighting, we'll get out and fight! That's what I'm saying. I'm not saying don't do anything. I'm saying, don't be this [shakes her arms in the air and convulses] because nobody can do it.
Navarro again insisted that "people need to prepare" before Whoopi asked the producer:
Would you like us to stop? Would you like us to stop? All right. We'll be right back.
There's never a dull moment on "The View."
MORE SPEW:
But when the ladies throw down with each other, it's truly a gift. Just like during the Christmas season.
Oh, wait—
