Joe Biden's wayward son, Hunter, filed a lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani in the U.S. District Court of Central California on Tuesday, claiming the former Trump lawyer hacked and manipulated data on an external hard drive, resulting in "total annihilation" of his "digital privacy.

And that's not even the bombshell. 

Biden's attorneys wrote in the complaint that the damning data wasn't from a "laptop," after all, but only from an "external drive."

For the past many months and even years, Defendants have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy toward looking for, hacking into, tampering with, manipulating, copying, disseminating, and generally obsessing over data that they were given that was taken or stolen from Plaintiff's devices or storage platforms, including what Defendants claim to have obtained from Plaintiff's alleged "laptop" computer.

So, let's get this straight.

On October 14, 2020, The New York Post published an article based on an email from the laptop about an alleged 2015 meeting between then Vice President Joe Biden and Burisma advisor Vadym Pozharskyi.

Yet only now, almost three years later, the younger Biden and his attorneys claim the laptop never existed in the first place? Got it. Makes total sense.

Anyway, in addition to “thousands of emails, bank statements, and other financial documents,” Biden's attorneys claimed that Giuliani and Robert Costello, a former federal prosecutor who defended Giuliani, accessed Hunter’s “personal photos,” which included a number of embarrassing images of the first son allegedly doing drugs and romping with minimally dressed women.

[Giuliani and Costello] have both publicly boasted about accessing the device, which they claim to have been given by repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac in August 2020.

The suit even cited a Sept. 12, 2022, interview in which Costello — who was “dressed for golf” at the time — showed a reporter how they gained entry to the hard drive with Biden’s username. 

The duo then “tampered with, [and] manipulated the data” and made copies to share with onetime Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon and other allies, the filing alleged.

Giuliani and Costello’s antics, Biden’s attorneys wrote, constitute a violation of the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, as well as the California Computer Data Access and Fraud Act.

In addition, the lawsuit cited a comment Giuliani made on his podcast in early 2023.

“This belongs to Hunter Biden,” the former New York City Mayor boasted while holding up a laptop during a Feb. 2 installment of “America’s Mayor Live.”

When Under a Constant Barrage, Launch a Counter Attack?

At present, the astonishing laptop claim suggests a counteroffensive as the only strategy that comes to (my) mind — and Hunter Biden's mounting legal problems are formidable.

Hunter Biden has embarked on a sprawling legal counteroffensive in recent months, targeting other alleged handlers of his hard drive data. He also sued the Internal Revenue Service over alleged "unlawful disclosures" made by a pair of whistleblowers who accused government prosecutors of derailing the investigation into Hunter Biden's taxes.

But even as Hunter Biden engages in a legal blitz, his own potential legal exposure continues to grow.

The 53-year-old is already facing three felony gun charges, and special counsel David Weiss has suggested his office might bring additional criminal tax charges in the coming weeks or months. The younger Biden has signaled that he will plead not guilty to the gun charges at an initial appearance scheduled for next week.

Biden's attorneys are reportedly seeking a jury trial, but the real question is whether there will be enough popcorn left by the time — or if — it happens.
