Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told Fox News Host Chris Wallace, Sunday Morning, that Judge Neil Gorsuch will be confirmed this week, with or without the Democrat votes.
Watch the exchange:
“Yes, we’re going to confirm Judge Gorsuch this week” Mitch McConnell tell Chris Wallace.
When Wallace pushes McConnell to explain if they have the Democrat votes needed, to avoid a filibuster, the senator says he doesn’t know. What he does make clear is that the Republicans plan to move forward to confirm Gorsuch, how it happens he says, is up to the Democrats.
“Look, what I’m telling you is that Judge Gorsuch is going to be confirmed, the way in which that occurs is in the hands of the Democratic minority, and I think during the course of the week we’ll find out how this will end… but it will end with his confirmation.”
Oh snap.
Sounds like Mitch McConnell has already decided that the Nuclear option is on the table and ready to be used. According to Chuck Schumer he’s going to have to use that plan, as the Democratic Minority Leader says, they will not get the votes.
Cue the outrage.
