“As families across the nation gather to celebrate Easter, I extend my gratitude to the dedicated East Wing Staff for their tireless effort in preparing the upcoming White House Easter Egg Roll,” Melania wrote in a post on Friday on X ahead of the event on the South Lawn of the White House on April 21.

“This cherished tradition, rooted in history since 1878, brings joy, storytelling, and laughter to America’s children,” she added. “I look forward to watching all of the smiles light up this memorable day, on Monday.”

“May this Good Friday inspire hope and faith for all Americans and our friends around the world,” the First Lady continued.

In a recent press release from the White House, the First Lady announced plans to carry on the tradition of the Easter celebration started by President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1878.

“Families with children 13 years old and younger are invited to join the President, First Lady, White House staff, and their families for a day of festivities,” the release noted.

“The White House Easter Egg Roll is a timeless White House tradition, dating back to 1878 during the Presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes,” it added. “The President and First Lady look forward to continuing this entertaining tradition and making it a truly memorable experience for all.”

In a recent cover story for the French magazine Le JD MAG, insiders like Stewart McLaurin, president of the White House Historical Association, discussed FLOTUS' plans to preserve the beauty of the White House.

“Melania Trump has focused primarily on the preservation and has taken beauty and historic elements," McLaurin told the Washington Post.

Speaking to Fox News in January, Melania hinted that her role as FLOTUS second time around could look different than the first time she and President Donald Trump and occupied the White House, as previously reported.

“The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much of the information,” the first lady said. “But this time I have everything … So it’s a very different transition this time, second time around.”

“Maybe some people see me as just a wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts, I have my own, ‘yes’ and ‘no,'” she added. “I give him my advice and sometimes he listens, and sometimes he doesn’t, but that’s OK.”
