There’s an egregious push by the left to redefine and destroy anything that resembles beauty. You’ve likely noticed this yourself. Many who fall into the radical leftist ideology go from looking like ordinary people to hideous monstrosities over a short time. Women and girls who fall into leftist radicalism suffer the worst, going from looking incredibly pretty to clowns with bizarre haircuts featuring neon colors, an insane amount of hardware stabbed into their faces, and hideous clothing choices.

Lauren Chen focuses on the issue of post-modern beauty standards and how women are affected by them. She shows viewers before and after pictures of women who engaged in social justice and enveloped themselves in woke culture. Some of these women go from normal and pretty looking to unrecognizable demons in no time flat.

While Chen does touch on why they do this, the deeper issue is with the lie that radical feminism tells girls.

Traditional female beauty, as Chen notes, is meant to make it clear to men that they are healthy, stable, and ready for babymaking. Feminism sees this natural aspect of women as egregious and one of the key tenets of radical feminism is that women must reject men, destroy the patriarchy, and live a life centered around what they view as “self-empowerment.”

You’ll see a very clear disdain for beauty in people. As my colleague Bonchie covered on Thursday, Adidas released an ad that featured women’s swimsuits…modeled by men. The look is absolutely disgusting, complete with a very noticeable bulge in the crotch. The posing the male model is doing is supposed to highlight the look of what the swimsuit would look like on women, but comes off as grotesque and out of place.

But it goes beyond people. One of the most fascinating videos I ever watched about the destruction of beauty in the modern era comes from Paul Joseph Watson. However you may feel about him personally, he did a deep dive into civilizations abandoning the incredible architectural works of the past and embracing the modern, drab, uninspired, and ugly architecture we see in many cities today.

As Watson points out, a lot of these hideous designs you see today came from leftist social designers whose goals were to rob the people of their sense of belonging and identity. It robs people of personal pride and replaces it with a nebulous, directionless feeling. Watson calls it “oppressive brutalism” meant to ease authoritarian control into the lives of citizens.

Watching the video, you can see what he means. Cathedrals, libraries, and even homes of old showed that there was care put into their designs which feature aesthetics that give off a sense of awe, wonder, and beauty. There was a deep sense of personality to them. When you were among them, you knew where you were. It gave those who were born and raised around them a sense of belonging.

Compare that to the modern basic concrete and glass structures of today. Most are featureless eyesores and their ugliness is reflected in their treatment. There is no desire to upkeep them and many fall into disrepair. Trash and litter are often a feature, as well as drunks and drug addicts sleeping in its crevices. The most colorful parts about them are the graffiti on their walls.

Modern art is no exception. While not every piece of modern art is ugly or lacks inspiration, it’s undeniable that lazy, ridiculous, and grotesque works have become somewhat normal in today’s art society. Where there used to be a very hard focus on talent and beauty, many modern artists splash one medium onto another while critics look on and call it “inspired” and “original.”

It’s the normalization of ugliness and a rejection of the beautiful.

And I think the answer as to why the left is obsessed with making the grotesque the new normal is for the very reason social engineers wanted to make buildings drab and unidentifiable; It’s a rejection of the self and embrace of someone else’s plan for you.

Let’s go back to women for a moment. Girls that engage in radical feminism might morph and corrupt their bodies to look like bright clowns that would be too scared to get close to a magnet, but they lose who they are. They blend into the background despite their very loud and distinct look. They replace their own personality with a political ideology that has no real concern with who they are and as a result they become hollow. Like a video game NPC, they’re just there doing whatever their programming tells them to. They accept and embrace ugliness and as a result, lose their true identity.

Things without an identity can have that filled in by anyone who wants to take advantage. They can be demoralized and their need for a direction manipulated.

Beauty is inspirational. It gives direction, causes self-reflection, and can tame wildness. Witnessing beauty has the side effect of causing personal growth. It develops taste and develops one’s personality. It creates identity and characteristics, not just in its landscape but in the people who see it and live around it.

All of these are dangerous traits to a person or people with authoritarian whims. Beauty is worth fighting for and the last thing an authoritarian entity would want is for people to fight them. So stripping them of beauty and encouraging ugliness makes people easier to dominate and direct.

Women are encouraged to embrace “modern” beauty standards by becoming overweight or “part of the solution” by embracing styles that repel men. Men, meanwhile, are encouraged to embrace feminine beauty standards to the point where they’re told putting on women’s clothing is beautiful. Drag queens and transgender people are applauded while real femininity exhibited by women is looked down upon.

The rise of modern authoritarianism and the depletion of classical beauty often go hand-in-hand.

But it goes even deeper than that.

The embrace of the ugly is sinister. There is an evil to it, and that evil has become more and more prevalent as God has been pushed further and further back in importance across the globe. Beauty and God are often tied to one another and it showed in almost everything from art to architecture. The destruction of beauty is another rejection of God.
