Your source for mainline mainstream media misdeeds and malarkey.
While Donald Trump has made a number of cabinet selections that the press have deemed “controversial,” one in particular appears to have them especially focused. For reasons open to speculation, Pete Hegseth has been the primary focus of the media this week.
A number of stories have come out from a number of outlets, and they all carry a whiff of desperation about them. The primary source of these accusations is…we do not know. Nameless, faceless, title-less individuals are cited to deliver the scalding stories, all while legitimate sources going on the record are roundly ignored.
Then, in related fashion, we show you a couple of major newspapers that display a distinctly conflicting approach to certain topics. In both examples, we’ll see the papers addressing the same story in two instances but covering them differently, based entirely on who is involved. (Hint: They claim it is (D)ifferent.)
Now, crack one open and savor some mainstream media malpractice and misinformation.

NBC News relies on anonymous sources to scorch Pete Hegseth.
Meanwhile, notable figures at Fox News are on the record calling the stories garbage but are roundly ignored.
Hegseth was even blamed for selling “hand grenade soap.”
Supposed media expert Brian Stelter got in on the gossip-spreading glee.
The unrealized irony of news pundits decrying that Hegseth is unqualified for being…a news pundit.
The Washington Post has very differing descriptions on the importance of the Bronze Star.

“One of the military’s most prestigious awards.”

- In identical fashion to the Post, the NY Times regards presidential pardons as either an inherent threat to our entire legal system, or a helpful tool for a conflicted family man of a President.
