Well it appears that Kamala Harris is on the receiving end of her own October Surprise in the form of the story emerging that portions of her book, “Smart On Crime,” had been plagiarized from a number of sources, among those being Wikipedia of all places. Not only is this laughably embarrassing, but some in the media are defending Harris, including the New York Times, which has a history of no tolerance with this practice. (Recall the quick expulsion of Jayson Blair?) But today it is perfectly excusable.
Then we look in on the press that has spent weeks mewling about hurricane-related misinformation. CBS News (as if they have not created enough controversy over the past week) claims militia in North Carolina are targeting FEMA workers, yet their main source was the NC National Guard, which reported having no interactions at all with militias or threats against FEMA.
Then we note how the press is silent about Harris avoiding Time Magazine’s presidential interview after scorching Donald Trump for walking away from “60 Minutes” last week, and Kamala shows her desperation by entertaining the idea of sitting for another interview – with the toxic, public threat and needed-to-be-canceled podcaster Joe Rogan.
Now, crack one open and savor some mainstream media malpractice and misinformation.
