BOOM!: JD Vance Shuts Up the 'Trump Is a Nazi' Crowd With One Simple Question
Here's a fun fact for Democrats: JD Vance only recently turned forty, which means they have years of him putting them in their place ahead of them. It's going to be fun to watch.
PALATE CLEANSER ALERT! The Best Political Ad of All Time!
Political ads haven’t gotten any better at truth-telling. In fact, it seems that most ads are intended as legal vehicles to lie. That, and to cast candidates as the guy you would want to have a beer with. Harris recently tried that and failed miserably.
WATCH: Kamala Visits Semiconductor Facility, Tries to Touch Razor-Sharp Objects
“Can I touch it?” the Democratic nominee asked as her right hand hovered over the metalloid rod.
“Do not touch it,” the factory worker immediately responded.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
As we come down to the wire, things are looking fairly solid for Senator Rick Scott in Florida and Senator Ted Cruz in Texas to hold onto their respective seats despite narratives aimed at indicating otherwise.
As for that "little secret" that former President Donald Trump hinted at having with House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA) at His Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, Johnson insists it's a tactic about getting out the vote, nothing sinister, though some are trying to frame it as so.
White House What's Up
President Joe Biden travels to Baltimore, Maryland, on Tuesday to deliver remarks about his Investing in America agenda. Following that, he heads to Potomac, Maryland, to participate in a political event. Tuesday evening, he will participate in a campaign call.
The Homestretch
Vice President Kamala Harris is spending the day in Washington, D.C., presumably preparing for her Ellipse Speech, which is scheduled for 7:30 PM Eastern. She will be joined at that by Second (not a) Gentleman Doug Emhoff. Harris' running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will be rallying in Savannah, Georgia, on Tuesday.
Trump will host a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Tuesday evening, while his running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, will appear at events in Saginaw and Holland, Michigan.
Full Court Press...
Jury selection continues in the New York trial of Daniel Penny.
We're still awaiting the appellate court decision in Trump's civil fraud appeal. Will today be the day? Stay tuned!
MORNING MUSING
I've shared this story with friends before, but it's a little bit of insight into how I am wired. I love my mom dearly, but of course, when I was a teenager, we often butted heads. She wasn't strict about cleaning and chores, though I did have some basic responsibilities, and I was expected to keep my room relatively picked up. Usually, it would become cluttered during the week, and I would think to myself that I would plan on picking it up on Saturday. Without fail, my mom would remind me on Saturday morning that I needed to pick up my room, which would guarantee that I wouldn't do it, just to spite her. It's ridiculous in hindsight, but there is a rebellious/oppositionally defiant streak in me, and it is still there in some respects. This tweet pretty much sums it up. (Only, I don't think it's ridiculous in this context.)
Not gonna lie: This is probably the Number One reason why I voted for him. There are others - overall policy positions chief among them. But I am so very over the censor and sue/prosecute them into oblivion M.O. This is my big fat: https://t.co/HhgLj4lbc7 pic.twitter.com/3SywgRU38l
