The pandering from Democrats toward women gets more shameless and cringe with every election cycle, and this one has been no exception to that rule.
After the Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade in the summer of 2022, Democrats have seen what they believe to be an "opening" of sorts with women - people who they treat as a monolith and who they believe prioritize so-called "abortion rights" over every other issue in this country.
With Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris captaining the ship (I know - scary) at this point for the party, the issue of "reproductive freedom" has been a focal point, with Harris and her surrogates (including those in the mainstream media) trying to paint a bleak picture of what life would be like for women under a Trump-Vance administration.

Not surprisingly, the topic of abortion and, more generally, "women's rights," has generated a lot of ads over the last two years especially, with perhaps the most insulting one of 2024 being released Monday by a political organization called Vote Common Good (VCG).
VCG, as The New York Times described them in 2018, is "a group of progressive Christians" whose "goal is to urge Christians to vote for Democrats and counter Trump administration policies that oppose their religious beliefs - especially on immigration, health care, and poverty." And just to demonstrate how far left they are, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) has previously served in an "informal" advisory role for the group.
Not surprisingly, VCG is all-in on the "women's rights are under attack" narrative, too, dropping this Julia Roberts-narrated special interest ad actually trying to make it sound like women only have "one place in America" left where "they still have the right to choose" - the ballot box. Further, the ad implies that women nationwide would be taking risks by voting differently than their husbands in the presidential election, something that is patently absurd.
Watch:
In the voting booth, women still have the right to choose.

Thank you to Julia Roberts for helping us make the choice clear - November 5th, let’s all choose a new path forward.#progressive #progressivechristianity #voteblue #harris2024 #prowomen #evangelicalsforharris pic.twitter.com/fchO3yj1na
Conservative women were not amused:
“The one place in America where women still have the right to choose.” Gosh, these people I swear. There are countries where women can’t drive, or speak for themselves. Stop acting like American women aren’t free. We are. https://t.co/jWZyniLovV

Julia, who's made her career in Hollywood, seems to think other women are afraid to let people know what their policy and political positions are. I get why she would think that. Hollywood demands lockstep. The rest of us aren't that afraid, Julia. https://t.co/OVCzlEKVAb

This “In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want & no one will ever know” is going over like a lead balloon with female voters I’ve spoken to voting for both Trump & Harris.

They think its insulting, condescending & creepy https://t.co/p59tpe8PEb
I imagine there were many men out there who were disgusted as well by the implications made in this ad.
There was also this:
Like there's a liberal suburban wife who keeps her opinions to herself.

Her husband knew what was up with her 200 Facebook posts on plastic straws.
Heh.
But seriously, considering Julia Roberts was one of the Hollywood elitists involved in the attempted cover-up of Joe Biden's cognitive health issues (she co-hosted the infamous June fundraiser along with George Clooney), as a conservative woman I'll take her lectures on the "right to choose" right about the 12th of Never.

Don't go away mad, Julia. Just go away.
