Australian Broadcasting Corp. Boss' Unhinged Rant About Joe Rogan Shows Just How Deluded MSM Is Right Now

We're seeing Democrats bemoaning that they didn't have a "Joe Rogan" in this election.

How bizarre is that? They had a "Joe Rogan." And a Robert F. Kennedy Jr. And an Elon Musk. All those people used to vote for Democrats until the Democrats threw them or the principles they believed in -- like free speech -- under the bus. They also have had and still have most of the mainstream media. So to act as if they were somehow at a huge disadvantage because there might be some outlets that are not under their control is hilarious.

But when a reporter asked the Australian Broadcasting Corporation boss Kim Williams about the influence of the world's most successful podcaster Joe Rogan, who has billions of viewers, how he has such influence and how the ABC would or should be going about capturing that kind of audience.

First, Williams admitted he didn't watch Rogan's show, saying he was not a "consumer or enthusiast" and he wasn't going to watching it "anytime soon." Then despite saying that, he launched a vicious attack on Rogan and the show:

I think that people like Mr Rogan prey on people's vulnerabilities. They prey on fear. They prey on anxiety.  They prey on all of the elements that contribute to uncertainty in society, and they entrepreneur fantasy outcomes and conspiracy outcomes as being a normal part of social narrative.

I personally find it deeply repulsive, and to think that someone has such remarkable power in the United States is something that I look at in disbelief.

I'm also absolutely in dismay that this can be a source of public entertainment when it's really treating the public as plunder for purposes that are really quite malevolent.

I think Joe Rogan's response spoke for all of us in response to William's hot take.

Rogan sits and has long form conversations with people. That's it. He hasn't been right or left; he's basically a moderate. But these folks keep pushing him to the right because of how delusional they are.

Williams accuses Rogan of fear-mongering -- while he pushes fear-mongering about Rogan. So much for the accuracy of media when he launches such an attack, while admitting he doesn't even watch the show.

But this is why MSM is imploding, and they're kicking and screaming on the way out.

X owner Elon Musk noted that the ABC was government-funded, "their Pravda."

The ABC gets $1.2 billion in taxpayer funding, yet their ratings are still declining.

The ABC’s combined national audience reach across TV, radio and online was estimated to be 61.9 per cent over a period of a week in 2024– compared to the previous year’s net reach of 65.4 per cent, according to its annual report.

The broadcaster’s TV news and current affairs reached 5.2 million average weekly metropolitan and regional viewers in 2023-24, facing a four per cent decline from the previous year.

They have no idea how to get viewers like Rogan does.

How dare Rogan have people on and ask questions of them? What a fiend.

That's the sin here apparently, daring to question and a free exchange of ideas.
