I reported about nine days ago that MSNBC had taken a huge hit in the ratings, dropping about 40 percent after the election. On top of that, Comcast was considering spinning off MSNBC and some of its other properties, like CNBC, into its own company, separate from NBC and the news division. Such a spin-off could possibly lead to it being sold and/or people losing their jobs.
On Wednesday, Comcast confirmed it, with the new entity including MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, E!, Syfy, and the Golf Channel reportedly to be called SpinCo. Could there be any name more appropriate after MSNBC has done nothing but spin the Democratic mantra, regardless of the truth of what they say?

But now they were dragged kicking and screaming into the reality of a Trump victory that they didn't think could happen, and that shows a rejection of all that MSNBC was peddling.
Producers are also grappling with how to platform conservative voices at the “only safe space for a liberal TV audience,” as one MSNBC insider put it.
“We were so Harris propaganda that when she lost, viewers were shocked,” one on-air pundit said. “It turned into one giant circle j--k and echo chamber. If MSNBC wants to be of service to its viewers, they can’t keep them in fantasy land.”
The MSNBC staffers are freaking out because of the possible cuts.
MSNBC stars Rachel Maddow, Chris Jansing and Katy Tur joined a tense 10 a.m. meeting at 30 Rock in Midtown led by NBCUniversal chairman Mark Lazarus, who will lead the new company, sources told The Post.
Staffers fearing looming layoffs peppered him with questions about whether the network will need to change its name, logos and headquarters after reports surfaced that the new entity could be cut off from the reporting muscle of NBC News, sources said. [....]
“Everyone is in a panic because everything is up in the air,” one MSNBC source told The Post.
One big report already shows a significant loss coming to Rachel Maddow. Although they're going to keep her on, they allegedly cut her salary by $5 million. It's hard to believe, but they've been paying her $30 million a year for working one day a week. But according to this report, now she's only going to get $25 million. MSNBC isn't commenting yet on the report.
How could they pay her that much? Is there any wonder that they need to reevaluate how they are doing things when they spend their money in such a fashion? They should have cut her salary to nothing and given her the boot. But the cut couldn't happen to a more deserving person, and hopefully, more will get cut, either in their salaries or by getting the boot entirely. That's likely why Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski reached out to President-elect Donald Trump, probably thinking it might help them hold onto their jobs, even though it got them in trouble with the leftist base.
But it's not clear that it's going to save them.
