One of the biggest problems that Kamala Harris has in her campaign is that she is essentially the incumbent. She's attached to all the failure of the Biden-Harris administration, from the economy and the border to Afghanistan and getting 13 young service members killed.
So how does she do that while still trying to argue that she represents a "new way forward" — a Mao-like expression that is actually one of her slogans?
A new way forward? Where the hell have you been in the past 3 and a half years? #HarrisWalz2024 is a joke! pic.twitter.com/7EQGuTcVzQ

Harris is promising things while not really explaining to anyone why she hasn't already done those things since she's occupying office now. She's also trying to run away from her prior radical positions to get elected, acting as though she's changed her mind with some pretty stunning and politically expedient flip-flops due to the likelihood that the American people wouldn't elect her if she stayed with such positions.
Kamala's Camp Knows She's in Big Trouble; Even Trump's Talking About It.
Her senior spokesperson, Ian Sams — late of the White House Counsel's Office — was on CNN, and Kasie Hunt raised this very question to him, saying Harris has been part of the Biden administration for the last three-plus years. Hunt said working-class people are telling CNN, "More of them are with Donald Trump than Kamala Harris. Why — what is it about what you guys have been doing for the last three plus years that explains that?" she asked. His response was incredible.

"Well, I think, again, we're trying to talk to the voters and explain this message," he said.
"We've got 60 days until the election. You know, we don't have time to sit around and think about why, over the last few years, certain things may have happened or may not have happened. We've got to go win an election."
It's "really different," he insisted. "It's a new way forward." Yeah, they have a new, communistic-like slogan. How is that different?
Hunt wasn't buying it, asking what makes it "really different from what was going on the past few years?"
Sams claimed Harris was talking about bad corporate actors — the same thing Biden talked about to deflect from the Biden-Harris administration making inflation worse. She did propose a "price gouging" thing — which was immediately criticized as communistic as well.
He claimed that was different from Trump talking about "trickle-down economics." Only Democrats ever talk about that; that's like their go-to bad word for their failure to understand the economy. Trump wasn't talking about that. Indeed, obviously, Kamala thinks highly of his thoughts since she swipes his policies and tries to claim them as her own, like "no tax on tips."
Sams claims she's talking about lowering costs, but they don't want to talk about how her actions raised costs. He also claims she's talking about a "tax cut" for middle-class families. But not continuing the Trump tax cut would raise taxes on middle-class families.
It's also funny when Sams complains the media isn't giving her policies enough attention — when she herself won't even put them on her website to let the greater public even know what they are. The first thing that does pop up on the site is a request for money.
But the most incredible thing there is how he says the "pundit class wants to sit around and have these conversations," but "they don't have the time" to think about why certain things may have happened over the last few years [translation: why they screwed up so badly]. So you, the American public, aren't owed any answers about that. They're not even thinking about any of their bad policies or why they failed because all they care about is winning. Just give them more time in office to mess up even more.
Talk about a bad message — yikes, that would be it.

It is certainly true that Kamala Harris is trying both to pretend she’s not VP and to run the clock out before anyone can look too closely at her, but I’m not sure that saying it out loud is especially helpful. https://t.co/mCU8fXYcqc

This is an unbelievably bad answer.

Harris campaign: We don’t want to talk about what she’s been doing in the Biden-Harris administration for 3.5 years.
This is precisely her problem.
She can’t be who she really is.
She is a San Francisco liberal pretending not to be one. https://t.co/ONqPT4j11L
