The impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden just opened and we covered some of the intriguing moments of the initial day.
Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) blew up the Democratic talking point that there was "no evidence." Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) dropped the hammer on the Democrats and even used the word "treason" when talking about Biden. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made a fool of herself attacking the Republican expert witnesses and getting owned by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
Now it's about to get even more interesting because House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer just made a move that he's been promising to do. He dropped subpoenas for the bank records of Hunter and James Biden.

I’m now sending subpoena for Hunter Biden and James Biden’s personal and business bank records.
We will continue to follow the money. https://t.co/oHzaHzAt7G
You can read the subpoenas here, although the names of the banks are redacted.
Comer issued three subpoenas for the records of Hunter Biden, James Biden, Eric Schwerin as well as entities associated with them.
The subpoenas compel records, including account statements, direct deposits, deposits, cashier checks, wire transfers, electronic transfer payments, credit and debit card records, loan documents and other records related to Hunter Biden; his shell companies Owasco, P.C. and Owasco, LLC; Skaneateles; business associate Eric Schwerin; James Biden; Lion Hall Group, LLC: and JBBSR, Inc.
"From day one of our investigation of Joe Biden’s abuse of public office, we’ve followed the money and that continues with today’s subpoenas for Hunter and James Biden’s bank records," Comer said Thursday night. "Bank records don’t lie, and coupled with witness testimony, they reveal that Joe Biden abused his public office for his family’s financial gain."
Comer said the financial records that his committee has obtained to date "reveal a pattern where the Bidens sold access to Joe Biden around the world to enrich the Biden family."
Democrats were already backpedaling and scrambling to deal with the latest news about a Chinese wire sent to Hunter Biden in 2019 of more than $250,000 that listed Joe Biden's main home as a beneficiary address. Then, there was also an FBI interview with Jim Biden -- conducted last year -- that came out in which Jim Biden spoke about attempting to help a Chinese company that he knew was directly tied to the Chinese government purchase U.S. energy assets.
Democrats' response? Trying to spin what George Washington law professor Jonathan Turley said about the evidence presented not being enough yet for an impeachment. Well of course not, it's just the first day, they didn't lay out all the evidence and that's the point of the inquiry -- to ask questions and get more. And they clipped off the whole of what Turley did say -- that there was evidence for opening the inquiry. The inquiry gives the Committee more powers to go after more evidence.
If that's where the Democrats have to go to try to downplay the problem, they're going to have a tough time as the impeachment inquiry proceeds, as more and more is laid out and the Bidens are further exposed.
