Ah, leftists. If it weren’t for double standards, they’d have no standards at all.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) demonstrated that in glorious technicolor during an interview on Sunday with “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan about the tour for his book, “It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism.”
“Tickets for your tour apparently are selling for $95 on Ticketmaster, which is accused of anti-competitive bidding. You know that. Some of your Democrats are criticizing them. Aren’t you benefiting yourself from this system that you’re trying to dismantle?” Brennan asked.

Sanders tried to spin why it was perfectly fine to be doing business with Ticketmaster and yelling about the evils of capitalism, as he raked in the dough.
“No, no, I’m not,” Sanders sputtered. “First of all, those decisions are made publicly by the publisher and the bookseller,” he insisted.
“I think there’s one case, where in one place here in Washington, Politics and Prose, an independent bookstore, charging some tickets, most of them, I think, are $40, $50. And you get a book as well. So if you want to come, you’re gonna have to pay 40 bucks, I’ll throw in the book for free. And we’re doing a number of free events, but I don’t make a nickel out of these things at all,” Sanders claimed.
Brennan persisted asking if he was okay doing business with Ticketmaster.
“No, not particularly. But that’s again, I had nothing to do with that. That is – if you wrote a book, probably be the same process,” he said.
“So you have to operate within the system,” Brennan replied.
“I do,” Sanders responded. “Write a book, a major publisher, etc., etc.”
That is so much hypocrisy, if he gave a darn about the issue, he could have made it part of his deal that he does not have to deal with any objectionable companies. The fact that he didn’t and why he goes along accepting it now is because selling the book and promoting himself is more important than any of those leftist principles he cares to espouse. Why isn’t the book just being sold for cost or published free online so everyone could enjoy Bernie’s most essential thoughts — doubtless the same rants he’s been making at rich people for decades. We all know why. Maybe if he gets enough suckers to buy the book, he can buy another lake house.
While Brennan is laying out Bernie’s hypocrisy, one of her producers was also promoting the interview. So not only is he letting people be soaked through Ticketmaster, but he’s also getting some nice promotion for his book from that CBS, that corporate capitalist network.

There’s even been a Judiciary Committee hearing that to look into the lack of competition in the industry after Ticketmaster’s enormous botching of Taylor Swift’s “The Era’s Tour” ticket sales.
Both sides of the aisle were upset about the issue, but then here’s Bernie just saying, “Eh.” Priorities.
