How is this even a thing?
We’ve seen hundreds of Antifa riots, hundreds of people injured, dozens killed, and millions — probably billions — in damage from the BLM/Antifa damage over the past several months in cities across the country.
But some liberals still don’t believe that Antifa exists or is responsible for any violence, or they think the “protests” are “mostly” peaceful.
Meghan McCain took on Joy Behar on “The View” when Behar tried to argue that Antifa didn’t exist. McCain gave her a little reality check. “Antifa does exist,” McCain said. “What separates Antifa is their willingness to use violence. I have very good friends who have been reporting on Antifa for months, and months, and months…the idea that Antifa doesn’t exist is just factually inaccurate and wrong and a lie.”
McCain explained how the federal courthouse in Portland had been attacked and set on fire by Antifa over the weekend, as we reported.

“I just want to clarify that … the FBI director says that antifa is an ideology not an organization,” Behar said. “There is no sign that they were involved in the Capitol siege, let’s be clear.”
“I’m not saying they were involved in the Capitol siege, I’m saying they exist,” McCain chimed in.
“I’m done,” Behar shot back. “I said my … thing and you said yours I’m done.”
“You said it was a fantasy, you said antifa doesn’t exist and it’s a fantasy,” McCain pressed.
Behar shouted at McCain: “It’s an idea,” pointing to her head.
“No it’s not,” McCain responded, before the show cut to commercial.
Joe Biden played this game, too, that it’s just an “idea” and it’s not a “physical organization” so we can just dismiss it all.
But that isn’t even what the FBI director said, so let’s take on that lie. While the wording of the FBI Director was poor and, quite frankly, sounded like he wasn’t sufficiently informed, he clearly wasn’t saying they were “just an idea” or “didn’t exist.” Indeed, he said, “Antifa is a real thing.”
We look at Antifa as more of an ideology or a movement than an organization. To be clear, we do have quite a number of properly predicated domestic terrorism investigations into violent anarchist extremists, any number of whom self-identify with the Antifa movement. And that’s part of this broader group of domestic violent extremists that I’m talking about [….]
Antifa is a real thing. It’s not a group or an organization, it’s a movement or an ideology, maybe one way of thinking of it, and we have quite a number and I’ve said this consistently since my first time appearing before this committee, we have any number of properly predicated investigations into what we would describe as violent anarchist extremists. Some of those individuals self-identify with Antifa [….]
[W]e have seen individuals, I think I’ve mentioned this in response to one of the earlier questions, identified with the Antifa movement, coalescing regionally into what you might describe as small groups, or nodes. And we are actively investigating the potential violence from those regional nodes, if you will. […]
I want to be clear that by describing it as an ideology or movement, I by no means mean to minimize the seriousness of the violence and criminality that is going on across the country. Some of which is attributable to that people inspired by, or who self-identify with that ideology and movement. We’re focused on that violence on that criminality. And some of it is extremely serious.
What he’s saying is they don’t have club cards and membership lists. But, in fact, they have people running social media accounts and websites dedicated to the ideology and involved in the organization and planning of direct actions in places like Portland for example. Perhaps that’s what he means by the regional nodes. But when they’re organizing events from social media accounts, that’s pretty real. Portland also spoke about the organized or coordinated effort during a press conference yesterday.
Bottom line? The criminality, the violence, and the damage are real, from real people. If you’re calling it an “idea” you’re either woefully ignorant and/or just trying to sell a lie, and it’s not working.
