How distorted is the Democratic effort to get President Donald Trump?

Let’s listen to Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the far-left progressives which includes folks like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

She did an interview on CNN with she claimed the evidence was “clear” and was confirmed in “multiple devastating ways for the president” (yet she didn’t list one).

“So we are not going to allow the president to use obstruction of justice and obstruction of Congress to stop us by saying we need to call more witnesses. We have had so many witnesses including the president of the United States, the key early witness to exactly what happened.”

Reminder: the President hasn’t been called as a witness. House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff has denied the Republicans’ requests for witnesses and have denied the president to even have an attorney present. In other words, Jayapal doesn’t think the President should be allowed to call any witnesses, only Democratic witnesses should be allowed.

And then were are these witnesses who corroborate any impeachable offense? Perhaps Jayapal would like to point to one? If she was watching the same hearings she would have seen that no witness said that Trump asked for a quid pro quo or demanded that there be investigations in exchange for aid. In fact, witness after witness said there was never any condition. It was a complete and utter bust for the Democrats.

Jayapal then went on to say that Trump daring to go to court to fight them was “in itself an obstruction of justice.”

Really? So availing yourself of your rights in court is a crime and Democrats “wouldn’t allow it?” And they’re not going to wait for the decision of the courts. But it’s Trump who’s obstructing?

Do they have any understanding of due process or the Constitution? Or do they just not care because it’s only and always about getting Trump? This is all the more egregious because she’s on the House Judiciary Committee.

How many ridiculous things have they claimed are impeachable now? But this definitely is up there at the top as one of the most nonsensical.
