A plurality of Americans now believe DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency) is "cutting too much," according to a new poll conducted by The Center Square. As is always the case with politically related polls, the survey results varied widely based on the political affiliation of respondents.
Before we get to the results, here's a more important reality:
With due respect, millions of politically predisposed and willfully low-information people generally get their "news" from news outlets that regularly push out content with which they agree — on both sides of the political divide.
Why? Because many folks feel validated if CNN, for example — or Fox News, on the other side — say or write what they already believe. Sad? For sure. Potentially dangerous, even, but it is what it is.
So here's how the survey results played out:
The Center Square Voters' Voice poll released on Saturday asked registered voters about DOGE and found that 47 percent of those surveyed said “DOGE is cutting too much.”
Another 28 percent said “DOGE is getting it right” while 12 percent said “DOGE is not cutting enough.” The remaining 14 percent are unsure.
Again, the above results included voters of all political persuasions.

But, according to the survey, only 19 percent of Republicans believe DOGE is cutting too much, while 48 percent said DOGE is getting it right, and just 18 percent said DOGE is not cutting enough — which stands in stark contrast to the results among Democrat voters:
Seventy-five percent of Democrat respondents said DOGE is cutting too much; 10 percent said DOGE is getting it right, while just five percent thought DOGE should cut more.
So here's the thing — actually a couple of things.
First, I'd venture a bet that many if not most Democrats couldn't correctly identify what "DOGE" stands for, much less speak intelligibly on what it's cutting and what it's not. On the other side of the aisle, my gut tells me that some, although fewer, Republicans aren't necessarily up to speed on the details of DOGE cuts.
The above said, Democrat politicians and their lapdog media continue to reduce themselves to spewing scare tactics about DOGE, aimed solely at low-information, rank-and-file Democrat voters, which has been their favorite strategy for the last six decades.
Here's more:
A separate poll question asked registered voters their feelings about Musk. The poll found 39% approve of Musk’s role with DOGE compared to 55% who disapprove. Political party makes a significant difference in this question as well, with 71% of Republicans approving of Musk, compared to only 10% of Democrats.
David Byler, chief of research at Noble Predictive Insights, which conducted the survey, told The Center Square:
What you see is Elon Musk has a worse favorability than Donald Trump. This is a consistent finding over polls, so having him as the figurehead is probably not helping.
No word from Democrats on the shenanigans of leftist billionaire George Soros and others, whose efforts to aid in destroying America as we know it have gone on for years.

As I reported in February, Democrats who remain hysterical about the relationship between President Trump and de facto DOGE head Musk said zero about the impact of Soros & Co. on the intentionally destructive presidency of Joe Biden:
While President Donald Trump's TDS-riddled Democrat detractors continue to lose their minds over what they perceive as multibillionaire Elon Musk's influence over Trump and his administration, they seem to have "forgotten" the Biden White House's relationships with more than a few multibillionaires of their own.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Meta (formerly Facebook, Inc.) Mark Zuckerberg, former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, and, of course, far-left Democrat mega-donor George Soros immediately come to mind.
So how hyperbolically delusional have the Democrats become about Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Trump's strong support of DOGE continuing to uncover multiple billions of dollars of federal government waste, absurd spending, and likely fraud? This delusional, for starters:
Since the election, the media has warned about Musk’s role and influence on President Trump. “Elon Musk Is Inaugurating a New Era of Billionaire Rule,” a headline from the left-wing Jacobin Magazine reads. “Elon Musk puts unprecedented outsize influence on display in government funding fight,” another from ABC News reads.
None of the above was a surprise at the time, and none of it is a surprise now. The "it" being, of course, the hypocrisy of the left, which -- and I know I write about often -- knows no bounds.
