Shocking videos from a vigil honoring the three Southport girls who were murdered in a stabbing attack show a large, angry crowd of men throwing bricks and other objects at police officers.
On Monday, July 29th, 17-year-old Axel Muganwa Rudakubana attacked girls between the ages of 6 and 11 at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party. Three girls were killed, 8 others were injured, with 5 being in critical condition. Two adults who were presiding over the party are also in critical condition.
A video on X, dated the day after the murders, shows police outnumbered by a violent crowd. 39 police officers were reported to have received injuries.

Initially, police did not want to share the identity of the suspect due to his age. However, once it was released, we can infer another reason why potentially it was kept quiet: He is of Rwandan descent.
The riot that attacked the police also threw bricks at a mosque, showing their rage after it had been reported (though not confirmed) that the attacker was Muslim.
“There has been much speculation and hypothesis around the status of a 17-year-old male who is currently in police custody, and some individuals are using this to bring violence and disorder to our streets,”
“We have already said that the person arrested was born in the UK, and speculation helps nobody at this time.”
Being born in the UK did not satisfy the rioters, who still believed this to be an ideology-motivated attack.
The UK has a considerably smaller number of far-right people in comparison to the United States. Part of this is due to Europe's secularism. In America, a strong Christian faith is associated with the right-wing political spectrum. Additionally, the UK's conservative party that was just ousted after 14 years of power would be considered quite liberal if compared to American standards. One important differentiator is that massive immigration has occurred under their leadership, something the Republicans would never advocate for.
Yet the group responsible for the Southport riot is claiming to be far-right. Could this be a rising movement? They are angry at the immigration levels that have occurred in their communities. As recently reported, Europe's immigration rate has been so rapid that it is virtually unsurvivable. This group understands that, and they are quite angry.
This isn't just about three little girls ruthlessly murdered. It's about people in a country waking up and realizing that it's too late and what's been done cannot be undone. What a desperate, horrible wake-up call that would be. It's a lesson to us that while there is still time, we must protect the values of our country for future generations.
