On Thursday night, Joe Biden gave one of, if not the most divisive speech that a President of the United States has ever given. The “great unifier” did nothing but divide the country further apart. Possibly due to his failed policies, he thinks the best strategy right before the midterms is to go after “MAGA Republicans.” He wants to create division among conservatives, or worse, but it seemed to have the opposite effect, as one voter in Virginia commented under RedState’s managing editor Jennifer Van Laar‘s tweet, saying:
“Have been a Democrat most of my life. Now I am an Independent. This is truly a game-changer attitude. The party left me, not the other way around. Truly intimidating. Nobody has the right to divide the country in this manner. The red & black imagery was also quite disturbing.”

She’s not alone. There are others who voted for Biden in 2020, but they were disturbed by his divisive speech. Over the years, there have also been a lot of people who have said that because the party is moving so far to the left, the party has left them. For example, a Pennsylvania Democrat for 34 years switched parties recently.
But imagine the outrage from the mainstream media and leftists had this been Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, or any other conservative giving a divisive speech as the one Biden gave. When Trump gave speeches, people said he was dividing the country. He did go after the media, but never did he attack the voters; he never alienated the citizens of our country. The same goes for DeSantis and any conservative that have previously given speeches.
As my colleague Nick Arama reported, CNN’s Briana Keilar and Jeff Zeleny correctly pointed out that Biden should not have had Marines standing behind him during his divisive speech.
Zeleny tweeted:
“There’s nothing unusual or wrong with a President delivering a political speech — it’s inherent in the job description — but doing it against a backdrop of two Marines standing at attention and the Marine Band is a break with White House traditions.”
Keilar tweeted:
“Whatever you think of this speech the military is supposed to be apolitical. Positioning Marines in uniform behind President Biden for a political speech flies in the face of that. It’s wrong when Democrats do it. It’s wrong when Republicans do it.”
But of course, following their tweets, the left tried to cancel them.
If a conservative had given a speech like Biden, especially in the same setting as his, the only thing you would hear from the media and the left is that they are “fascist, divisive, and hate-filled.” But because Biden gave the speech, it was defended by some in the mainstream media, of course on MSNBC, and by CNN host Don Lemon.
The double standard is shocking but not as surprising anymore. There are some Democrats who did not applaud the speech and criticized it. Regardless of party and politics, no politician should denigrate an American.
