Politico’s Laura Barrón-López, who is in Nevada covering today’s caucuses, is reporting that there is a shortage of volunteers at precincts across the state, leading to the Nevada Democratic Party asking campaign representatives to serve as volunteers and even precinct chairs.
Just an hour before doors closed at sites across the state, Barron-Lopez tweeted:
NSDP party officials are telling campaign representatives that there’s a deficit of volunteers across the state, and so they are asking representatives of campaigns to act as precinct chairs, per multiple sources on ground

Per source: Desert Oasis High School just announced that they don’t have the registrations or the early ballots yet. They are on the way.

A volunteer at Spring Valley High School told Barrón-López:
I’m at Spring Valley High School and a lot of the Nevada Dem Party volunteers did not show up. They are worried about the precinct chairs showing up as well.”
In addition to no-show volunteers, some precinct sites haven’t received early voting data or have received incomplete/inconsistent early voting data.
After three campaigns told us earlier this AM that they had not received full early voting data from NV Dems as promised, one now says they just got the full batch, but party pulled out the SOS (Secretary of State) data that previous versions of data had https://t.co/Aox7CDmrL2

As voting got underway, a Nevada Democratic Party rep told Barrón-López that they were “recruiting and training volunteers all the way through this morning to ensure we have the capacity we need….”
Update: @nvdems Molly Forgey addresses reports of volunteer shortages at some caucus sites…
"We have been recruiting and training volunteers all the way through this morning to ensure we have the capacity we need and we are confident in having the necessary volunteer numbers"

These developments don’t inspire a lot of confidence in the accuracy and completeness of the results that will be gathered today. If the results are at all close, expect them to be contested.
