Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is a disturbing example of what happens when gender ideology is allowed to pervade America’s major institutions. The judge raised eyebrows in her opinion on a recent case involving Idaho’s abortion law.
The court accidentally released its ruling early on its website Wednesday. The justices officially dismissed the case on Thursday, which means emergency abortions will be allowed in the state.
The ruling has already ignited some controversy. But one of the aspects of this development is Jackson’s aversion to using the term “woman” or “female.”

In her dissent, Jackson referred to healthcare providers who were forced to place “pregnant patients at risk while they are waiting to be transferred out of State to receive the care they need” because of Idaho’s law.
The judge criticized the court's failure of putting off a ruling in the matter, and asked: “[H]ow long must pregnant patients wait for an answer?”
Brown argued that “Today’s decision is not a victory for pregnant patients in Idaho. It is delay.”
While this Court dawdles and the country waits, pregnant people experiencing emergency medical conditions remain in a precarious position, as their doctors are kept in the dark about what the law requires.
The judge then concluded:
This Court had a chance to bring clarity and certainty to this tragic situation, and we have squandered it. And for as long as we refuse to declare what the law requires, pregnant patients in Idaho, Texas, and elsewhere will be paying the price. Because we owe them—and the Nation—an answer to the straightforward pre-emption question presented in these cases, I respectfully dissent.
This isn’t the first time Jackson has toed the progressive line on gender ideology. When she was going through her confirmation process, she declined to call a woman a woman because she’s "not a biologist."
It happened when Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) asked Jackson about a ruling in which Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote a majority opinion, on a case involving Virginia Military Institute’s male-only admissions policy.
“Can you provide a definition for the word ‘woman'?’” Blackburn asked.
“Can I provide a definition? No,” Jackson replied. “I can’t.”
“You can’t?” Blackburn pressed.
“Not in this context, I’m not a biologist,” the judge said.

Other high-profile leftists have also participated in the effort to erase female identity. In 2021, Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), during a hearing, gave testimony in which she referred to black mothers as “birthing people”:

The Biden administration has also gotten in on the act, like in a 2021 budget proposal.
Now, this is from the budget just proposed by Joe Biden, the supposed leader of the free world and this is what is in it.

Here’s the bottom line: None of this is a thing if progressive gender ideology had not become the prevailing view on gender in academia. This silly belief system has been perpetuated in colleges and universities all across the country.
Unfortunately, the shortage of pushback against efforts to redefine gender have created a situation in which an individual serving on the highest court in the land cannot bring herself to use the word “woman”--or even entertain the idea that men and women are different. Jackson embodies the culmination of the success gender ideology has enjoyed in America.
To make matters worse, progressives have been trying to start earlier when it comes to indoctrinating young people. They have been pushing this destructive ideology in K-12 classrooms in the hopes of turning out a new generation of people who believe men can become women and vice versa.
This is why it sometimes appears that the fight against gender ideology is hopeless. But it’s not. There have been several victories against this agenda – especially in the court system. It is not too late to reverse this trend, but it will require as many hands on deck as possible.
