ActBlue Continues Letting Black Lives Matter Use Fundraising Services After Supporting Hamas

The war between Israel and Hamas continues to expose what is underneath many of the prominent figures in American politics. This is especially true of Black Lives Matter, which lost a substantial level of popularity over the years when it was revealed that the global foundation was little more than a grift, using white guilt to fund lucrative endeavors for the group’s leadership.

But another branch of the Black Lives Matter brand has revealed that it is not as opposed to bigotry and hate groups as they might have us believe. Even worse, ActBlue, a popular fundraising platform for Democratic politicians and various far-leftist causes, has shown that it is rather selective in how it applies its stated values.

The Democratic software platform ActBlue is silent on whether it will continue to allow Black Lives Matter Grassroots to fundraise through its services following the major group sympathizing with Hamas after its deadly attack against Israel.

BLM Grassroots, which says to have 26 chapters in the United States and called the deadly Hamas attack in mid-October a “desperate act of self-defense,” currently pulls in cash through ActBlue Charities, a donation link shows. The organization published a statement on Oct. 9 claiming “we must stand unwavering on the side of the oppressed” Palestinians, equating the “resistance in Palestine” to efforts by black people fighting “to end militarism and mass incarceration.”

“ActBlue is the premier giving site for Democrats and liberals, and it’s an ongoing embarrassment as long as BLM is on their website,” CEO Peter Flaherty of National Legal and Policy Center, a conservative watchdog group, told the Washington Examiner. “The polling shows that BLM’s favorability rating has gone steadily down. And it will go lower after this episode.”

It is worth noting that Black Lives Matter does not merely support innocent Palestinian civilians or have qualms with the Israeli government. BLM Grassroots has gone so far as to support and defend Hamas after it launched its October 7 strike on Israel, killing over one thousand Israeli civilians – including children. After the fighting started, the group wrote in a post that because the Palestinians “have been subject to decades of apartheid and unimaginable violence, their resistance must not be condemned, but understood as a desperate act of self-defense.”

Also noteworthy is that ActBlue’s own policies state that the company does not work with groups that are against “social equality, women’s rights, LGBTQIA2S+ rights, racial justice, diversity, freedom of speech, disability rights, and respect for scientific inquiry, discovery, and data.”

Hamas is a terrorist hate group dedicated to killing Jews and is not exactly a fan of social equality, women’s rights, freedom of speech, or racial justice. In fact, members of the group have more in common with Nazis than with the black Americans BLM Grassroots claims to support.

So, if this is the case, why would ActBlue continue doing business with an organization that supports this type of terrorist group? One would imagine that it would be pretty difficult to square that particular circle.

Nevertheless, ActBlue seems intent on standing with BLM Grassroots, even though it is in league with a terrorist group that clearly does not align with the fundraising service’s stated values. But therein lies the rub, I suppose.

We have seen time and time again that progressives don’t actually believe the codswallop they try to shove down everyone else’s throats. They claim to be for racial justice, tolerance, acceptance, blah blah blah. But when it boils down to it, they like to pick and choose where to apply these principles. As I always say, if you want to know whether someone actually believes the principles they publicly espouse, see how they apply those principles when it’s not convenient. In this case, ActBlue has failed that particular test.
