There has been a mini movement of late by Republicans both in government and outside who were at a time supportive of Donald Trump, or at the very least were willing to see how he’d do, who are now in a full-fledged frenzy over Trump’s behavior of late. Particularly as it relates to his comments about Judge Gonzalo Curiel and his apparent inability to be impartial because as Trump says, “He’s a Mexican. We’re building a wall between here and Mexico.”

That apparently was the straw that broke the camel’s back for a number of higher profile people who were once supportive of Trump, now saying that they can no longer do so or are calling on other Republicans to reevaluate their support of Trump.

Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois endorsed Trump, but has withdrawn that endorsement:

Kirk, who told CNN that he would write in former CIA director David Petraeus this fall, followed up with a statement saying he objects to Trump’s recent comments about a federal judge’s Mexican heritage.

“I find Donald Trump’s belief that an American-born judge of Mexican descent is incapable of fairly presiding over his case is not only dead wrong, it is un-American,” Kirk said.

Lindsey Graham called on other Republicans to un-endorse Donald Trump:

Graham wants fellow Republicans who have endorsed Donald Trump to take it all back in the wake of his repeated claims that Judge Gonzalo Curiel’s heritage make him unfit to preside over lawsuits against him.

“This is the most un-American thing from a politician since Joe McCarthy,” Graham told The New York Times. “If anybody was looking for an off-ramp, this is probably it,” he added. “There’ll come a time when the love of country will trump hatred of Hillary.”

Hugh Hewitt is now openly calling on delegates to reject Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention.

Joe Scarborough of MSNBC, lit into Donald Trump today, challenging the presumptive nominee to prove he’s “not a bigot.” Check the video:

Seeing this now doesn’t have me clapping or cheering them on for calling out Donald Trump.

The only thing it makes me want to do is shout, “Where the hell have you people been for the last year?!”

Plenty of people decided early on they wouldn’t support Donald Trump for President. Some people considered it, but it didn’t take long for Trump to turn them off. I’m wondering why is it that Kirk and Graham, Hewitt and Scarborough are suddenly acting like they discovered fire for some reason, when what Trump said was par for the course for how he has behaved since he got into the race.

Were Trump’s comments about Mexicans not enough when he launched his campaign? Claiming that Mexico is “sending” people that bring drugs and crime, and who commit rape, didn’t tip them off?

How about when Donald Trump mocked John McCain because he was captured? “I like people who weren’t captured.” The man who dodged the draft with specious claims mocked a man who was tortured during his time in captivity.

Certainly the menstruation joke Donald told about Megyn Kelly (“She had blood coming out of her…whatever.”) was enough to make them see the light, correct?

Punishment for women who get abortions? Mocking Carly Fiorina’s face? Flirting with 9/11 truther theories? Saying George W. Bush lied us into war with Iraq? Comparing Ben Carson to a child molester? Mocking disabled reporter Serge Kovaleski? Wanting to ban all Muslims from entering the United States?

Joe Scarborough described his brother, a Trump supporter, as “horrified” over what Trump said about Judge Curiel. So everything else Trump said wasn’t enough? That’s horrifying. 

This is not likely to get better. Donald Trump has a narcissistic condition that borders on being pathological. It’s as if he cannot help himself when somebody is critical of him. He goes on the attack and does not let up; the damage it does to his campaign and to the GOP, be damned. The Democrats know this. They know what buttons to push.

As for Graham, Kirk, Scarborough and Hewitt? There is only one thing to say:
