From the diaries.
Senator Elizabeth Warren is as radical left as you can get and still log face time on CNN like you’re a mainstream moderate. (Which is pretty radical.) You gotta give her one thing, though; when it comes to deception she’s slicker than a slop jar.
It makes sense, then, that ol’ Fauxcahontas would be working with the extreme leftwing group MoveOn.org. And it figures that the two forces together would think it’s perfectly fine to raise money off of the corpses of murdered kids. It’s the radical left’s biggest hobby these days.
Before you read the below fundraising email, courtesy of WeaselZippers, I’m going to tell you what’s NOT in there.
What’s NOT there is MoveOn admitting who was the actual force behind the supposedly kid-organized “National School Walkout” last week. Warren and MoveOn are touting the “protest”, praising it, and hoping to raise money off it, but they fail to disclose the extent of their own and other orgs involvement. More no that after you read the letter, though.
Dear MoveOn member,
The students in Parkland experienced an unimaginable tragedy. They looked around and saw that their elected officials had done nothing to prevent it and were doing nothing to stop it from happening again. So they decided that if the grown-ups won’t act, they will.
I watched the news reports of an estimated 1 million students walking out of class last week to demand change to our nation’s gun laws. In fact, here in Massachusetts, more than 600 students spent their snow day marching to the State House (I was so proud of them that we sent over donuts and hot chocolate).
Young people have always been on the frontlines for social change. It is our responsibility to listen, answer their call, and get to work.
The persistence of these students is working. The state of Florida—a state led by Republicans and where the NRA has tremendous power—passed modest new limits on guns last week, including raising the minimum age and banning bump stocks. It’s not enough, but it’s a small step in the right direction.
I’m standing with these students, and doing everything I can to support them. And MoveOn members are too. You’re planning to show up in person at the March for Our Lives in Washington, D.C., and sister marches around the country on March 24. You’ve been funding MoveOn billboards in key districts all over the country exposing how much money individual Republican members of Congress have gotten from the NRA. And you’re gearing up to help MoveOn run get-out-the-vote drives in districts represented by NRA Republicans to defeat them in November.
Nonstop political pressure—the kind MoveOn’s millions of members can muster—is what it’s going to take to make the voices of these students heard.
I wish I could tell you that the Republican-led Congress is finally willing to do something about gun control. Democrats in Congress have proposed bills to ban assault weapons. Bills to require universal background checks. Bills to close the gun show loophole. Bills to ban bump stocks. Bills to fund Centers for Disease Control research on gun violence. Congress could vote on any of those pieces of legislation tomorrow. But as long as Republicans maintain control of Congress, they’ve made it clear that they won’t vote on a single one.
Which is why I’m asking you, [NAME]: Will you chip in $3 right now to help fund MoveOn’s elections program to help end Republican control of Congress this November and elect progressive leaders who will stand up to the NRA and vote to pass common-sense gun control legislation to protect America’s kids?
MoveOn is already doing powerfully important work to address gun violence in our country. But MoveOn knows, and I agree, that to pass gun reform laws, we’ll need to make members of Congress who are beholden to the NRA fear for their jobs—because the moment that they realize that students, teachers, moms and dads, grandparents, and concerned people across the country will hold them accountable if they don’t pass stronger gun laws will be the moment that change will happen.
Click here to chip in $3 now.
Thanks for all you do.

So, let’s highlight a couple of lines.
– “I watched the news reports of an estimated 1 million students walking out of class last week to demand change to our nation’s gun laws.”
– “The persistence of these students is working.”
– “I’m standing with these students, and doing everything I can to support them. And MoveOn members are too.”
– “make the voices of these students heard.”
Look at the implied spectator status there. They’re organizing a march, this email is raising money for it, but they are just building off what “these students” did on their own.
But did the students build it?
Not really. Actually, just like the upcoming “sister” marches in the email above, the original student walkout – the one that was so sanctioned and endorsed by school staff across the country that it was practically state-sponsored – was conceived, organized, and paid for by dozens of leftwing activist groups, big name Democrat donors, and a whole mess of adults who are not fed-up high school kids at all.
The National Student Walkout that your kid might have been forced to participate in (or face punishment) was actually created and organized by Women’s March Youth Empower. It was their idea. They organized it and made it happen. And other groups quickly joined in.
Yes, your kid may have been forced to participate in an event created by the radical “Women’s March” and financially and logistically supported by groups like MoveOn. Ain’t it grand?
This is not wild theory though. It’s all on the record. The mainstream press may not tell you about it, but it’s not a secret.
Buzzfeed, in stories largely ignored by the big press, laid out part of this early on, in an article meant to praise the involvement of the large groups and that still spun it as a natural evolution from student-organized to large-group-assisted.
Since then, major players and organizations — including Everytown, Giffords, Move On, and Women’s March LA — told BuzzFeed News they are helping with logistics, strategy, and planning for next month’s March for Our Lives rally and beyond. Much of the specific resources the groups are providing to the Parkland students remains unclear — as is the full list of supporting organizations — but there are broad outlines.
And here, about MoveOn from the same article:
MoveOn said it will encourage its millions of members to follow and promote the March for Our Lives movement on social media and attend the rally next month. The group said it had offered support in organizing logistics such as security and portable toilets, but it is unclear if the students have taken them up on their offer.
A spokesperson for Planned Parenthood, which has not directly been in touch with the students, said it has been in contact and offered support to Giffords, which is spearheading the national coalition of groups working with March for Our Lives.
The spokesperson also said the group is “teaching and hosting trainings” for young activists across the US “to keep momentum going so they don’t get burned out.”
Democratic US Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Broward County resident for nearly 30 years, told BuzzFeed News she has been in touch with students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas since the day after the shooting, helping them connect to state legislators and plan their trip to Tallahassee last week.
That is from before the actual walkout. MoveOn’s offer was accepted, and they were organizers along with the rest. They brag about it on their site, too.
MoveOn’s in-house Video Lab has produced, livestreamed, cross-posted, or shared 67 videos—which have been viewed more than 7 million times. One of our videographers livestreamed a student-led school walkout in Maryland that was seen by over 2 million viewers.
So why don’t they mention that in the email? They’re openly involved in the Student Walkout and the March for Our Lives event, so why does the fundraising email make it sound like they’re swooping in after the fact to join something that started in the hearts of minds of kids spontaneously?
That IS why. To make it sound that way. That’s the sales pitch the Walkout was using. It’s exact the thing the left and the Democrats in office and the mainstream media are all making a huge effort to say. Because that’s the brand they want you to see.
Branding is extremely important in this world, and the left uses branding extremely effectively. In this case, the brand identity is “kids speaking truth to power.” A scrappy band of youngsters fed up with being afraid who dare to stand up to the evil, old, white, adult power structure of the NRA and the GOP. That’s their hero story.
How inspiring is an email that says “the Louis Farrakhan loving, anti-American shrews at Women’s March Youth Empower, along with big fat donations from loudmouth celebrities and with the support of opportunistic politicians have joined forces to exploit tragedy using guileless children to extract donations from everyday Americans in order to disarm them of their weapons and their freedoms”?
Not very.
Fauxcahontas, MoveOn, Everytown, George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, Moms Demand, Women’s March, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Planned Parenthood, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Ted Lieu, American Federation of Teachers … they are all working together in concert to create this so-called “student” movement. This would be an awesome conspiracy theory if it were a theory.
But it isn’t. It’s right out in the open. They fundraise for it, they talk about it on their websites, and sites like Buzzfeed praise it as wonderful. Yet the media and the emails that regular folks receive don’t spell it out. Because they want to keep the brand image intact. The brand image that kids, not grown-ups but kids, from sea to shining sea have stood on their desks against the cold indifference of a greedy political order.
In this country right now, thanks in no small part to the Trump groundswell, populist uprisings are all the rage. And that’s what they want you to see here. An uprising of kids.
But that ain’t the truth. It’s the same old leftist organizations. They just found some kids they can exploit, some who are alive and some who aren’t.
