One of the biggest wastes of time and money by the left is its attempt to rewrite tradition, specifically when it comes to men and women. To be sure, they've successfully convinced a lot of women and more than a handful of men that being a feminist is great, that masculinity is evil, and that all things should fit into some bizarre idea of gender fluidity and redefined ideas of what is and isn't sexually moral, yet lurking beneath the surface is a truth that can't be denied.
Women love masculine men, and men love beautiful women.
A recent article from Newsweek went viral recently, which spoke about how conservative men "obsess" over beautiful women. The premise of the article is that this is a bad thing because it shows that "sexism" is alive and well on the right and that it reveals the presence of a patriarchy:
Does the conservative hot girl's rise symbolize a more liberal thinking about sexuality, or is it the installation of women as objects for political gain? "Definitely the latter," Rottenberg said. "There is no liberal thinking about sexuality here."
"Patriarchy and populism go hand in hand," Hannah Yelin of Oxford Brookes University in England told Newsweek. "Policing women, their appearance and their bodies is an integral mechanism of the American right."
Cann said that the women involved in this movement who "actually readily align themselves with right-wing populism oftentimes represent a profound interest in traditional gender norms and an explicit rejection of feminist politics."
Cassese pointed to the fact that the reification of the hot girl is "coinciding with the erosion of women's reproductive rights" and that this, "points to a regressive tendency to prioritize men's sexual gratification over women's agency."
Translated from wokenese, the above paragraphs say "conservative men only like hot women because it allows them to make women into things in order to better rule over them."
Quick aside, colleges are demonstrably a place where you go for stupid opinions, but I digress.
The simple fact is that this is actually just nature taking shape. Beauty is, of course, in the eye of the beholder and each man may be attracted to something that another man isn't, but there is a generalized beauty standard that is programmed into men by God... or nature if that floats your boat. Beauty is a sign of health, fertility, and child-bearing/rearing capability. These aren't evil things, they're literally a part of the natural order that encourages the propagation of the species, the ultimate goal of every species on the planet.
Newsweek makes mention of the right's obsession with Sydney Sweeney, calling her a "conservative hot girl" due to the nature of Sweeney exhibiting classical beauty standards. This is correct. The right has embraced Sweeney, at least unofficially, as one of the highest examples of beauty in today's society, complete with shining blond hair, beautiful face, and huge... tracts of land.
The left considers this attraction to beauty, and the embrace of the natural order, disgusting... or do they?
For all the attempts at rewriting nature through ideological pressure, college brainwashing, and corporate advertising, the core of our nature just can't seem to be rewritten. Even the left obeys the natural order, it just doesn't like to admit it.
An article that was released just last month from the New York Post discussed how women on the left can't help but feel attracted to everything they say they hate, including that villainous toxic masculinity. In truth, conservative men catch their eye and hold their attraction. According to Steve Santagati, author of "The Manual: A True Bad Boy Explains How Men Think, Date, and Mate–and What Women Can Do to Come Out on Top,” leftist men who renounce their masculinity find themselves hated by the very women who outwardly praise that kind of behavior in males:
“Any liberal woman who’s with a liberal man, chances are she hates him, she resents him,” Santagati continued. “Women want to be with a man that they can trust that they feel safe with. And the bottom line is conservative men have these qualities over liberals by a landslide.”
Santagati feels many women believe in traditional gender roles, even if they’re afraid to admit it. He said that deep down, most women want a masculine mate, regardless of whatever is politically correct to acknowledge these days.
“No matter what they tell you, ‘Equality, blah blah blah,’ if they keep pushing that on you, ask any woman to give you an honest answer. You’re driving down the road. It’s pouring rain. You get a flat tire, and your beta liberal husband says to you, ‘Honey, I don’t want to usurp your femininity. So why don’t you go out and change the tire, and I’ll wait in here and listen to NPR?’ It ain’t going to happen. She’s going to hate you,” Santagati said.
He's right. It's all ingrained in us by nature, as psychologist Geoffrey Miller of the University of New Mexico told the New York Post in 2021 when the subject had come up among dating circles:
“It’s a mismatch between what progressive women say they want and what they actually respond to,” Miller said. “Women’s instinctive mate preferences have evolved for hundreds of thousands of years for guys who are competent, strong, good providers, good protectors and happy with a sexual division of labor,”
Women want “decisive men who are also compassionate and thoughtful,” he added.
This was backed up by science according to the Post:
A 2018 study from Iowa State University backs this up, reporting that progressive women prefer men who demonstrate more traditional dating behaviors. The women found these men to be “more attractive” because they signal a willingness “to invest by being protective, committed, and by providing resources.”
At its very core, sexual attraction is the basis on which we find a mate to cleave to and procreate with. Not everyone ends up doing that, but this is what nature instructs us to do and try as we might, we can't escape that call. Many who do resist it end up unhappy or regretful.
But the bottom line here is that the left can think men being attracted to beautiful women is disgusting all day. They can denounce us, call us pigs, and march in the street while complaining about a "patriarchy," but hilariously, when the lights go out, and they're left in the privacy of their own mind, their hope is to cuddle up to a decisive, smart, strong masculine man. They want to be desired by these men and, in an effort to attract them, adopt techniques that help that cause along.
And there's nothing wrong with that, no matter how many screaming professors claim there is.
