When I saw the reports come in about New York Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulling a fire alarm, my first thought wasn't outrage or shock, it was simply something along the lines of "that sounds about right."
Democrats, or more accurately leftists, aren't exactly a group that likes their own standards and policies. They like them for you, but for themselves, they're wildly inconvenient and detrimental to their own freedoms that they themselves enjoy but want to deprive you of.
Democrats love to repeat the phrase "No one is above the law." You'll catch them saying it in noble fashion as they discuss someone like former President Donald Trump's alleged crimes that we're still waiting to be discovered. However, when Democrats say this, what they mean is you aren't above the law. Or, to be more precise, anyone who isn't them isn't above the law.
Bowman can absolutely pull a fire alarm without good reason -- which breaks two laws on a federal and local level, as my colleague Bonchie pointed out -- and suddenly you'll find that Democrats are above the law because no one is coming for the guy. He'll write it off as an honest mistake despite the fact that his excuses are about as believable as a whore's claim to virginity given the evidence in front of us.
If a Republican had done this, you'd hear no end to the outrage and charges would be pushed relentlessly. The media wouldn't drop it, and you would hear more and more about the nefarious behavior of Republicans from "noble" Democrats.
But let's depart Bowman for a moment and hit on what is probably the biggest clue that Democrats don't believe in their own nonsense, and that's the "sanctuary city" issue.
When Trump was president and the border was under control, Democrats loved to refer to their strongholds as "sanctuary cities," or places where illegal immigrants could come and live without having to watch for ICE over their shoulders.
Of course, as Biden opened up the border and illegal immigrants began streaming in by the thousands, they began referring to states and cities on the border as racists and xenophobes for wanting it closed again. The virtue signaling was endless...until Republicans got sick of it and made Democrats put their money where their sanctuaries are.
As Mike Miller reported on Monday, now the Democrats are singing a wholly different tune and wanting to stop claiming to be sanctuary cities. Chicago is a perfect example of this as Republicans busing migrants into the city has caused something of a panic and they want the migrants out:

From backtracking on the insane "Defund the Police" movement — after violent crime rates soared ever higher, leading some wealthy Democrats to hire personal security guards — to the never-ending border crisis, which was intentionally caused by Joe Biden, the hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds.
2024 matters; let's not screw it up.
Back in 2021 I wrote an article titled "There's No Such Thing as a Socialist." In it, I have a few examples of popular "socialists" that talk a big game when it comes to "taxing" or "eating the rich" but absolutely love living on piles of cash themselves.
The point of the article is simple. The very people who claim to be the height of moral superiority have no desire to live the life they they say you should. Leftists would cease being leftists at all if they were forced to live by their own policies and regulations. If they were held to the same standard as you and I, you'd see a lot fewer fire alarms pulled and a very closed border.
The bottom line is that if you want to truly stick it to the Democrats, then the Democrats have to feel the burn of their own fire. Everyone, not just Republicans, needs to start demanding that any broken laws by Democrats should be punished, and any laws passed by Democrats should be abided by Democrats first and foremost. Failing to hold them accountable effectively gives them de facto control over the nation.
