The left’s reaction to the Florida bill banning sexual identity education to children in grades three and below has been nothing short of disgusting. Not only do they feel the need to fight against a bill that stops the teaching of sexualization to children for some reason, but they also feel they need to wholly lie about it, calling it the “don’t say gay” bill when it doesn’t mention the word “gay” one time.
Democrat politicians, specifically in Florida, likely know that the bill isn’t doing what they’re claiming it does, but the narrative is too juicy to pass up and, sure enough, many are buying the lie hook, line, and sinker. This includes writers, actors, producers, and studios. Pixar, in particular, has become angry over the Florida bill and in a revenge move, now claims it will include a lesbian kiss in their upcoming Buzz Lightyear movie.
According to Variety, Pixar’s LGBT employees and its allies sent a joint statement to Disney claiming that the company had censored its overt references to homosexuality in its past movies and further complained that Disney’s response to what they call the “Don’t Say Gay” bill didn’t go far enough. The studio apparently drew a line, saying that the Florida bill has moved the studio to reinstate a same-sex kiss that had been taken out of the film at Disney’s direction:
According to a source close to the production, Pixar’s next feature film, “Lightyear” — starring Chris Evans as the putative real-life inspiration for the “Toy Story” character Buzz Lightyear — does feature a significant female character, Hawthorne (voiced by Uzo Aduba), who is in a meaningful relationship with another woman. While the fact of that relationship was never in question at the studio, a kiss between the characters had been cut from the film. Following the uproar surrounding the Pixar employees’ statement and Disney CEO Bob Chapek’s handling of the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, however, the kiss was reinstated into the movie last week.
The decision marks a possible major turning point for LGBTQ representation not just in Pixar films, but in feature animation in general, which has remained steadfastly circumspect about depicting same-sex affection in any meaningful light.
Again, the bill doesn’t mention banning the word “gay,” just teaching very young children sexuality and gender identity. It’s curious why anyone would want to fight against that kind of bill which is effectively an attempt to stop teachers or school officials from grooming children.
The focus should be on teaching children to read, write, add, subtract, and other fundamental skills that would allow them to interact with the society they were born into. The only reason you would introduce sexuality at such a young age is to try to force a child into cooperating with a political agenda down the road. It’s irresponsible and, quite frankly, sick.
But we’ll see how much they believe in what they’re doing when it comes time to the international markets. Oftentimes, the virtue-signaling many companies do in the states stops at the borders of countries that don’t go in on everything these woke companies claim to hold so dear. It’s highly unlikely that this lesbian kiss will be seen in Chinese theaters as Disney/Pixar will end up abandoning their “beliefs” for piles of yen.
So what we’ll have is a company given over to social justice politics that is angry that teachers can’t groom children, but will drop its beliefs the moment its bottom line is threatened.
