Before the vote passed, Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz was on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News and was ripping the Democrat party to shreds for everything from their pick for the Democratic primary to the ridiculous things we have in the new stimulus package.
Gaetz began by contrasting President Donald Trump with former VP and current choice for the Democrats to lead the country despite hardly knowing what’s going on half the time, Joe Biden.
“While President Trump leads our country with conviction you see Joe Biden seizing up like he’s the Tin Man when his teleprompter freezes,” said Gaetz. “We don’t need the Mr. Magoo presidency that Joe Biden promises.
Gaetz then turned his attention to the new stimulus package where Democrats had put in hundreds of millions of dollars of funding for refugees and migrants.
“And as to Governor Huckabee’s points about Democrats trying to seize power, as Senator Graham works to fix these unemployment problems you’ve been talking about in this bill, I sure hope he’ll try to take out the $350 million for migrant and resettlement for refugees in our country.”
“Why in the world would we have $350 million for migrants and refugees before we restore the economic condition of every American in our country?” continued Gaetz. “And, oh, by the way, Sean, no money for border patrol and ICE in this bill, but you see the Democrats – just as Governor Huckabee said – doing everything they can to social engineer through a crisis.”

Democrats have been attempting to push items in the stimulus bill that has absolutely nothing to do with helping Americans get back on their feet or stay afloat during this pandemic. Democrats have pushed for nonsensical items such as diversity on corporate boards and tax credits for wind and solar companies.
Huckabee’s suggestion that Democrats are trying to utilize this crisis to rearrange America is spot on the money.
The bill did pass with the migrant refugee funding, as well as $35 million set aside for the Kennedy performing arts center, though no one is exactly sure why that was necessary.
The bill will now go to the House to be finalized and voted on.
