I'm pretty sure President Donald Trump has already set the record for most articles of impeachment filed against him, and he's just padding his stats at this point. 

On Monday, Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) released a video claiming that Trump must be removed from office and that "Kilmar Garcia must be allowed to return," referring to an alleged illegal immigrant gang member who was deported to his home country of El Salvador. To say the entire thing was weird would be an understatement. I thought this was a "Saturday Night Live" skit at first. I'm not kidding.

THANEDAR: This is Congressman Donald Trump has already done real damage to our democracy, but defying a unanimous 9-0 Supreme Court ruling? That has to be the final straw. It's time we impeach Donald J. Trump. The courts say the wrongfully deported Kilmar Garcia must be allowed to return and receive due process. Trump ignored it. He ignored the Constitution. He ignored the very checks and balances that keep our democracy intact. 

This isn't an isolated incident. It's part of a dangerous, deliberate pattern. That's why, today, I introduced a resolution to impeach Donald J. Trump, outlining seven articles of impeachment. 

I know it's 2025, and it's politically incorrect to laugh at stuff like this, but I'm failing the test. The accent and hysterics come across as a guest host for "Weekend Update." Even the low-budget graphics seem like a parody. How is this real?

I'm also going to be honest with you guys and make an admission: I have no idea who this dude is. Obviously, I cover politics regularly, and I've never seen Thanedar before, nor do I recall ever hearing his name. That's how inconsequential he is. I'd call him a backbencher, but that might be too kind of a descriptor. 

What are you doing, Michigan? This is who you are sending to Congress? 

Likewise, you've got to love that the issue at the forefront here is yet more crying about Kilmar Abrego Garcia (this congressman couldn't even get his name right). Of all the people for Democrats to try to push as the face of their movement, they chose an accused domestic abuser with MS-13 ties. The level of self-own is hard to fathom. 

As for where this goes, the answer is nowhere. House Majority Leader Mike Johnson (R-LA) will never let this get to the floor, and even if he did, it'd never have the votes to pass. This is nothing but a publicity stunt, and I suppose it succeeded since I gave it coverage. But come on, this was too hilarious not to post about.
