Ron DeSantis Delivers a Message to Vaccinated Americans, Hysteria Follows

Ron DeSantis continues to trigger the libs, and it’s not just because he’s really good at owning them. They can’t stand the fact that he beat one of their supposed future stars in Andrew Gillum, and they hate him even more for defying their COVID hysteria and producing results that bested all the comparatively populated blue states. In fact, Florida sits at 28th in the country in COVID deaths per one million, a mark that is simply amazing when you consider the state has the second-largest vulnerable, elderly population in the country.

Today, DeSantis continued his crusade against the hysterical among us, delivering a message to vaccinated Americans. A freak-out commenced shortly thereafter.

If you read the comments, mask crusaders rushed in to “correct” DeSantis by proclaiming that vaccinated people can still get and spread the disease. Scientifically, that’s highly misleading, at best. Yes, it’s possible for someone who is vaccinated to contract COVID. But the chances are so minuscule as to make them almost non-existent. Out of 75 million full vaccinations (i.e. all doses administered) given, only around 5,800 reinfections have been recorded. That puts reinfection chances, per the CDC, at around 0.0075%. In other words, it’s a level of risk that’s not only acceptable but basically miraculous. Further, the chances of death at that point are less than being struck by lightning.

Anyone suggesting that such a level of risk is still high enough to wear a mask, much less a double mask, is essentially saying that we should wear masks forever. Common sense tells you that some risk will always exist of infection, no matter the circumstances. What matters is what that risk actually is, and when we are talking about a level of risk that’s magnitudes less than the flu after vaccination or infection, there’s no excuse to keep pushing mask hysteria.

Despite that, you get idiocy like this routinely spread from the left.

Do these people not realize they are making a case against getting the vaccine? And that ignores that they are scientifically just wrong. If the standard is zero risk, then that’s never going to happen, but if the standard is minimal risk to the point where COVID is far less of a worry than a thousand other things you do daily, then vaccinated Americans have nothing to worry about. The standard should obviously be the latter, as that’s what science tells us about reinfection chances with the current vaccines (or natural immunity after recovery for that matter).

The level of delusion that has been sown by the media in regards to COVID is just a sight to behold at times. DeSantis is completely correct in his pronouncement. That some feel the need to still attack him shows how little of a role logic currently plays in our discourse.
