The mental gymnastics that Democrats are doing to excuse the ongoing violent rioting in Portland and other cities is a sight to behold. It takes serious effort to obscure reality to this extent, but they are apparently down for it.

Enter Rep. Pramila Jayapal of the state of Washington. Given she lives at one of the epicenter’s of the chaos and violent Antifa activity, you’d hope she’d be more forceful in trying to stop it. But nah, she’s decided to channel Ilhan Omar instead.

Oh, it’s just “some people” at “some building.” Well, that changes everything. And here I thought it was masked domestic terrorists with weapons that are starting fires at a federal building and injuring police officers.

Omar would be proud by this attempt of obfuscation.

Try to imagine a situation where right-wingers were being this openly violent on film every night. Would any Democrat, or Republican for that matter, ever gloss over their actions by pretending that law enforcement are the bad guys? Would they ever just call it “some people” at “some building?” Would they call it “mostly peaceful” and call for it to continue? Of course they wouldn’t. Rather, it’d not only be national news every night, there’d be universal condemnation. There are good also odds CNN would put up a “right-wing riots” counter and not take it down until the last “protester” was gone.

Jayapal is a coward though. Her district is far-left and she knows she has to toe the line to get re-elected. That, mixed with the fact that she’s also a radical, means she can’t even be counted on to denounce the burning of federal buildings. Throughout Bill Barr’s hearing yesterday, Democrats routinely thought of more creative ways to not admit the obvious, i.e. that things are out of control and that they’ve fed the monster. Jayapal was right in the middle of that, making the ridiculous comparison to the current violent rioting and peaceful anti-lockdown protesters.

RedState covered that exchange and it’s worth watching just to get an idea of how dishonest this woman is.

That dishonest portrayal caused “reporters” like Jim Acosta and Carol Leonnig to swoon as if they were teenage girls at a Jonas Brothers concert. Facts don’t matter anymore, only presentation and narratives.

If it feels like we are living in the twilight zone, it’s because we are. An entire political party, one that makes up a majority in the House of Representatives, can’t even be bothered to speak against political violence going on in their own cities. The reason why is simple. They see this as a way to beat Donald Trump. They want the American people to feel the pain and the chaos. They want voters to think “maybe if I vote for Biden, we can go back to the status quo.”

Whether that strategy will work is something we’ll find out eventually. What I do know is that it’s a gross, cynical ploy that they only get away with because the media are so incredibly biased. But if Biden does win, expect the switch to be flipped and these Democrats to suddenly be for the quelling of violence again just like they were during the Obama years. This is all a game to them and it’s disgusting one to watch.
