You know Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings’ committee is really serious business when they call in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib as expert witnesses on the border. That’s where we are in our legislative process these days.

This stems from wild claims that AOC made a few weeks ago involving her visit to a border facility in El Paso, TX. While there, she claimed not only that the Border Patrol agents physically and sexually threatened her, but that she witnessed a woman being told to drink out of the toilet.

Just left the 1st CBP facility.

I see why CBP officers were being so physically &sexually threatening towards me.

Officers were keeping women in cells w/ no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets.

This was them on their GOOD behavior in front of members of Congress.

As per usual with the freshman Congressional member, this all turned out to be nonsense. Later, we would learn that she didn’t even actually enter the actual detention facility, instead choosing to stage a photo-op by verbally abusing the guards and then insisting she stay with a family at the beginning of the tour. At no point did she actually witness someone being told to drink out of the toilet and we’ve still yet to hear the names of these agents who supposedly threatened her.

The fact that she was proven to be completely full of it regarding her claims about her trip to the border didn’t stop Rep. Cummings from dragging in front of his committee anyway to repeat her lies all over again.

That led to this bizarre, ridiculous scene.

You’ve got to give her this. She’s a good actor and she’s keen to the fact that the media will eat this up (which they promptly did).

There was absolutely no reason for her to be sworn in here. Congressional members don’t get sworn in and it’s against the law to lie to Congress whether you raise your right hand or not. This was all pure theatrics on her part.

She would of course go on to lie again about women drinking out of the toilets, something she’s provided no evidence of and had no witnesses to confirm. Then we got this c-level writing from whatever staff member wrote her remarks for her.

“What’s worse, Mr. Chairman, was the fact that there were American flags hanging all over these facilities,” she said. “That children were being separated from their parents in front of the American flag, that women were being called these names under an American flag, we cannot allow for this.”

AOC saw children being separated from their parents in front of an American flag? When? It certainly wasn’t when she visited the CBP facility in El Paso as initial processing was not part of her tour that she didn’t even take. We also see her make the claim that women are being verbally abused, again providing no evidence or witnesses.

In the end, it’s all about the photo-op for AOC.

Bob Malak is referring to AOC’s previous visit to the border in 2018 where she pretended to cry in front of a fence with nothing on the other side. But don’t worry, Snopes has assured us it was actually completely legit despite wide angle shots showing her surrounded by cameras and doing different poses.

This is what AOC is all about. Doing actual work is not her thing. She got elected simply to elevate her profile and she’s shown herself to be a manipulative, conniving individual who will do anything to push a preferred narrative.

“Time and time again, she chooses photo-ops over actually legislating. Just look at today’s hearing. She asked to be sworn in prior to testifying before the Oversight Committee — something that never happens for members of Congress,” they added. “But that doesn’t matter to her. She just needed something to tweet. It just shows that Democrats are obsessed with political theater and attacking the president, rather than solving real problems facing the American people.”

Thankfully, it’s not just Republicans who are growing tired of this stupidity. Democrats are starting to push back on her as well and things are only devolving further into chaos within their caucus. No one should have sympathy for them though. They created this monster by embracing AOC’s insanity early on for perceived political gain. Now, they get to reap the whirlwind.
