Even Biden's Own Cabinet Member Is Disgusted by the Potential Use of Preemptive Pardons—'Sinks My Heart'

Joe Biden revealed in an interview Sunday that he is considering issuing preemptive pardons for fibbing folks like former White House Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, Sen. Adam "Shifty" Schiff (D-CA), and former Wyoming Senator/J6 Committee Cheerleader Liz Cheney. This after the president shamelessly pardoned his convicted felon son Hunter for all offenses against the United States he committed or may have committed from Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 1, 2024, despite assuring Americans for months that he would never do such a thing.

In December, he commuted the sentences of nearly 1,500 individuals and issued pardons for an additional 39 involved in non-violent crimes. He followed up by stunningly commuting the sentences of 37 of the 40 prisoners on federal death row.

The whole thing felt like a massive poke in the eye to Donald Trump and the tens of millions of people who voted for him.

The corruption never seems to stop with this guy:

Here's the Discussion Reportedly Going on About More Biden Pardons - and the Big Names Being Mentioned

Plenty of people, including President-elect Donald Trump, were disgusted with Biden’s slippery dealings, but you wouldn’t expect one of the lame-duck president’s own Cabinet members to speak out—yet speak out he did:

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra warned against the impact of a preemptive presidential pardon for people like Dr. Anthony Fauci just hours after President Biden said in an interview that he was still considering it.

"It sinks my heart to think that we’re going to use the pardon process in a way that will follow the whims of whoever’s in the White House," Becerra, who previously served as California's attorney general before taking his post at HHS, said in an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday. Becerra noted that he was speaking from his legal background as opposed to his position in Biden's Cabinet.

"I think we should hold that power, that only a president has, in very high regard," he continued. "Because otherwise it becomes pedestrian, and it’s used anywhere, and I don’t think that should be the case."

Frankly, I’m surprised to hear such logical words coming from Becerra. He’s a Democrat from California, which tells you almost all you need to know (his political rise began in the Golden State, so you can safely conclude that he’s a leftist). He was a 12-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives and then became the state’s attorney general. His chances of earning the RedState seal of approval are not good:

Biden Cabinet Officials Asked If Biden Was Fit to Serve - Bizarro World Ensues

When pressed in the interview about whether he was referring to Biden potentially pardoning Fauci, Becerra grew squirrely:

When the HHS secretary was asked directly if he meant that the president should not pardon Fauci, who was Biden's former chief medical adviser during the pandemic and served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for several decades, Becerra declined to clarify.

"I won’t try to interpret what you’re hearing; I just told you what I think," he replied.

Whatever that means—way to take a stand, Xavier. Back up your earlier statements.

Becerra didn’t come right out and say it, but what Biden has done and is considering doing is corrupt, against the vision of the Founders, and beneath the dignity of the office.
