It’s been a long journey for former Trump advisor Peter Navarro. As we reported, he was sent to prison in March for four months for defying a subpoena from the duplicitous J6 Committee. It was yet another example of the weaponization of Biden’s Department of Justice.
But Navarro is back—in a big way. Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he has chosen the economist to serve as senior trade counselor.
The Trump-Vance transition team praised Navarro in an email:
I am pleased to announce that Peter Navarro, a man who was treated horribly by the Deep State, or whatever else you would like to call it, will serve as my Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing. During my First Term, few were more effective or tenacious than Peter in enforcing my two sacred rules, Buy American, Hire American. He helped me renegotiate unfair Trade Deals like NAFTA and the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS), and moved every one of my Tariff and Trade actions FAST.

President-elect Trump has made trade and tariffs a key focus as he prepares to return to the White House, and Navarro looks to play an influential role:
The Senior Counselor position leverages Peter’s broad range of White House experience, while harnessing his extensive Policy analytic and Media skills. His mission will be to help successfully advance and communicate the Trump Manufacturing, Tariff, and Trade Agendas.

It’s quite the turnaround for Navarro, who made a triumphant appearance on the RNC stage in July just after being released from prison. “The J6 committee demanded that I betray Donald John Trump to save my own skin,” he said. “I refused.”

The Trump train just continues rolling along, much to the chagrin of the exploding heads over at CNN, MSNBC, et al. Navarro’s appointment might truly set them off the deep end.
