Xi's Fishing Trip

There are a lot of things about life in America in 2023, that we never thought we would see happen so fast, or quite frankly, never thought we would see, period. A once strong nation feared and respected around the world is now one playing a perpetual game of appeasement and "Don't make 'em mad" with virtually every group of people, foreign and domestic, that has a beef with us. A nation with a robust economy just three years ago, the likes of which had never been seen, and a cultural rot that is eating away at the ideals and values that made this nation the greatest on earth. If you are Chinese President Xi Jinping, you just have to see it to believe it.

And that is exactly what happened. Chinese President Xi Jinping made his first visit to the U.S. in six years to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC). After what he was able to witness in just a short time on the ground, he must have been convinced it was Christmas and his birthday all rolled into one. We know that any information about and from the West is heavily censored in China. But if you are the president, of course, things like censorship don't apply to you, and you have the ability to see whatever you want. Xi and his inner circle undoubtedly have immediate access to any information regarding the West. They see what goes on politically and culturally. He has seen Joe Biden's physical and mental struggles; he has been able to read what Western media, both for and against Biden, have to say about it. He has had Biden administration cabinet members travel to China and bow before Chinese leaders. So, the APEC Forum must have seemed like the perfect opportunity to see it with his own eyes, the perfect time to take a little fishing trip.

Xi Jinping was rewarded with the confirmation that, yes, it is all true. What he saw was not a strong leader of the free world. He saw Joe Biden become a beggar for the U.S. on the world stage. Joe Biden had a shopping list, and on it was Biden begging Xi to stop the flow of Chinese fentanyl coming into the country at a rate that was responsible for almost 70 percent of the overdose deaths in the U.S. in 2022. Apparently, begging Xi to stop the fentanyl is easier than closing the southern border. Joe Biden would also love it if the Chinese had a stern talk with their biggest oil supplier, Iran, about reining in Hamas and Hezbollah because begging China is apparently easier than just not giving Iran billions more dollars.

Xi also saw it was true that Joe Biden would show incredible weakness because of the things that he didn't mention. Things like the origins of the COVID-19 virus, the fact that China sent a spy balloon across the U.S., conveniently coming near key U.S. military bases, China building up its nuclear arsenal, and, of course, any action against Taiwan. President Xi may have had some idea that all that weakness was real, but again, seeing is believing.

But perhaps the most dangerous portion of Xi's fishing expedition was, at least for America, just watching Joe Biden zoning out, stumbling, and mumbling, including the whopper about how he and Xi have "traveled 17,000 miles" together. To listen to Joe tell it, they are Bill and Ted 2.0. If you are Xi Jinping, how can Taiwan not be on the table for you now, before it is too late? Because while you see America faltering politically and culturally, you also see polls, and you know there is a very good possibility that on your next trip to America, you may be face-to-face once again with Donald Trump.

Then there is the simple fact that the House Oversight and House Judiciary Committees keep finding more evidence that Joe Biden is compromised because of substantial amounts of money changing hands between the Chinese Communist Party and the Biden family. Joe isn't going to bite the hand that feeds him and, thus, likely will be less than honest about the real threat China is to the future of not just America but also our allies.

Xi Jinping's fishing trip surely was a productive one because if he didn't quite believe the state of America before, he certainly does now.
