On Wednesday, the man accused of attempting to execute Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh submitted his plea in federal court.
Nicholas John Roske, a 26-year-old from California’s Simi Valley, pleaded not guilty to one count of attempting to assassinate a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
In the early morning of June 8th, Roske was arrested outside Justice Kavanaugh’s home.
In his possession, as relayed by CNN: “a Glock-17 pistol, a tactical knife, two magazines, a speed loader, ammunition, pepper spray, zip ties and tools including a hammer, screwdriver, nail punch and crowbar.”

According to Fox News, Roske was motivated by a potential end to federal abortion rights:
The individual told police that he had become upset by the leaked draft opinion that could spell out the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Roske also allegedly said that he believed the justice would decide to loosen gun laws following the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
Roske took a taxi to Kavanaugh’s neighborhood and was spotted by U.S. Marshals, but was apprehended after he called 911 and told the operator that he was having suicidal thoughts and was planning to kill Kavanaugh.
Evidently, he changed his mind:
Roske…texted his sister before dropping the plan to kill Kavanaugh and authorities believe that what she said led him to abandon the plan.
Still, the charge against him is punishable by a maximum of life imprisonment.
In earlier America, all the above news would surely have prominently hit the front page. But it seems the national media have come to compartmentalize stories: Those supporting a preferred narrative are overpublicized while those unuseful are relegated to less-than-commensurate coverage.
At the White House, executive silence has persevered. RedState’s Sister Toldjah shared recent thoughts on the matter:
[H]ere we have an admitted plot (which was hatched in the midst of BidenCo. rallying around the protesters) that if seen to its conclusion would have resulted in the murder of a member of our nation’s highest court, specifically for the purposes of causing the other Justices to fear for their lives to the point they’d rule in a way the killer would like them to, and we’ve not heard the first word from Joe Biden himself, no unequivocal condemnation, nothing.
…
So much for respecting “democratic norms” and our “sacred institutions,” right?
It’s been 12 days since a left-wing assassin attempted to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Biden still has not condemned it.

Will coverage of the murder plot increase? It doesn’t seem likely. But perhaps the much-marketed January 6 hearings will be over by August 23rd — that’s when a jury trial for Roske is scheduled to start.
Per Fox, while in court, the accused didn’t have much to say:
Roske only raised his head a few times, answering basic questions from the judge when he stood to be sworn in during the court hearing on Wednesday.
That seems similar to Democrats’ and legacy media’s approach to the case.
