James Carville, Democrat strategist, Clinton creature, and supposedly one of the Democratic Party's remaining moderates, went on Piers Morgan's show on Friday and engaged the British liberal host on the issue of dudes in women's sports, taking the stance that the issue was "not a concern."

Morgan proceeded to defenestrate Carville.

“You know what I say about that and what you should say? If you’re concerned about the state track meet, please do something about it. We have an athletic association, they can do it,” Carville said. “But if … you more concerned about bathroom stalls, then hang out in bathrooms. This is not of a concern to me. There are people that can deal with this. I’m worried about the cost of living. I’m worried about access to healthcare.”

Morgan cut Carville off to disagree with him.

“I would dispute that. A lot of Democrats have tried to say to me, ‘It didn’t really matter, the trans stuff and the woke stuff’ and I keep saying, I think it matters more than you think,” he said. “That when Trump positioned himself as the voice of common sense, and you had a party led by [former President] Joe Biden and Kamala, who both thought it’s fine for biological men to compete in women’s sport, for example, that actually that was more powerful than people realized, in the third tier of why they voted.”

This was one of the Democrats' greatest 2024 miscalculations in an election cycle that was littered with miscalculations; Kamala Harris' campaign in particular was a veritable Miscalculation-A-Palooza, led by perhaps the most clueless political figure of the 21st century - so far, anyway. Carville is still echoing this, but there is plenty of objective data showing that, despite the aging Dem strategists' claims, people do care about this issue - and he's on the wrong side of it.

Harris’ top super PAC estimated that voters moved 2.7% toward Trump after watching a popular ad featuring radio host Charlamagne Tha God saying he was against the former vice president’s support of taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners.

Charlamagne also called the issue of trans athletes “a losing talking point” in February.

“It impacts such a small, small group of people, but it makes a whole lot of people think folks lack common sense, so why are they even having that conversation?” the radio host asked.

Almost 80% of Americans feel that biological males “should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports,” according to a January New York Times/Ipsos poll.

One is inclined to wonder just who the 20 percent is, but we can take that up another time.

Amazing, isn't it, that the American people care about men competing against their daughters in competitive sports. It's a near certainty that many of these boys and men don't actually suffer from gender dysphoria. They are opportunists, taking advantage of a social contagion that allows a mediocre male athlete to claim to be female and suddenly attain stardom - and access to the women's locker rooms and showers.

There is no sane world in which this should be a normal practice. James Carville is, on this issue as with so many others, simply wrong, and while Piers Morgan is a liberal by any standard, in this, he is correct, and he's right to call Carville out. 

This is why even "moderate" Democrats are losing and will keep losing as long as they adhere to "woke" lunacy like this. If they maintain their current course, they will become a regional fringe party, appealing only to ivory-tower academics, the dependency class, and elite urban liberals. While that would be bad for Democrats, mind you, it would be good for the country.

Maybe the few remaining moderate Democrats, like former West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who became an independent in '24, could form a new party. I think the name "Whig" is available.
