CIA Getting the Housecleaning All Government Agencies Have Been Promised

I have to say that Trump 47 is moving at a breakneck speed and obviously has learned the lessons about the Deep State that plagued Trump 45. I would dare say that every administration should have a four-year break to learn those lessons; this time, the Trump team was able to hit the ground running with fresh eyes and a clear perspective.

The speed and efficiency with which the new POTUS and his team are setting fire to The Swamp has even the most seasoned Washington D.C. veterans looking around in a daze. I know that the majority of those who have watched and written about politics are also stunned, including those of us here at RedState.

Here are some examples of how hard Trump 47 and his people are hitting the ground.

Kash Patel Orders 1,500 FBI Agents and Staff Out of the Building on Day One

A brief snippet of the FBI story above to give you an idea of some of the shock and awe:

FBI Director Kash Patel followed up a fiery introductory speech on Friday (Kash Patel Brings the Fire As He's Sworn in As FBI Director— 'There WILL Be Accountability' – RedState) with equally fiery action. He ordered 1,500 staff and agents to be transferred from its Washington, DC, headquarters to various locations across the nation. Some 1,000 agents and staff will be reassigned to cities the Trump administration has designated higher crime locations where they can fight crime rather than engage in political shenanigans. Another 500 staff will be reassigned to Huntsville, Alabama, which is the DC equivalent of exile to Siberia.

This is Director Patel's first step, and it shouldn't come as a shock. He told us it was going to happen.

During his confirmation hearing, he reiterated his goal of getting agents and analysts out of DC and into field offices.

So as the stories above give you an idea, Elon Musk and the DOGE team are treating everything that is run by the federal government quite equally regarding the cutting ax or the chainsaw. No agency or group seems to be exempt, and that includes the nation's top spy outfit, the CIA. I came across this story from our sister site TOWNHALL:

In a stunning move, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has announced plans for its largest mass firing of intelligence officers since 1977, over 50 years. This unprecedented decision marks a significant shift in the agency's operations as it seeks to streamline its workforce and refocus its efforts amid growing concerns over efficiency and accountability within the intelligence community. The move is expected to affect a substantial portion of the agency's personnel, with officials citing the need for modernization and a more agile approach to national security threats.

According to the New York Times, former officials have revealed that the CIA has begun dismissing an undisclosed number of officers involved in recruitment and diversity initiatives. The move responds to President Donald Trump’s executive order to abolish diversity initiatives within the federal workforce.

According to the article above, the last time the CIA got tagged with any sort of reorganization or layoffs was back in 1977 under former President Jimmy Carter's Administration.

This shows a total commitment to restructuring the federal government and its overall goals and spending. That every department is getting looked at and will not be spared layoffs and reduction in the workforce is something that has only been talked about by people running for office but never actually done.

I can't recall at any time over the past 30 years anyone talking about cutting and restructuring the FBI or the CIA, even as campaign rhetoric. That Trump and his team are actually moving forward with this is an absolute first in the history of how the federal government is used and how it interacts with the citizens that they serve.

The timing of this is perfect coming almost on the heels of the overspending from the era of COVID-19. People are talking about essentially a peace dividend from the reduction in spending that has to happen. If Trump and his team are willing to look at every aspect of where the government spends the taxpayer money and can make their ensuing changes stick, how quickly can the nation get put on the right track?

Some of the pie-in-the-sky predictions of cutting the overall deficit within a year to a year and a half could become reality. Trying to tackle long-term entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare could start to be moved upon and not with fantasy 10-year projections.

Federal agencies, instead of being used to spy on domestic politicians running for office like they were in 2016, could actually be used to protect the citizens who pay their salaries through their taxes.

Amazing times we live in, and the tenacity of one Donald J Trump is the reason why.
