Loony Democrat School Board Member Gets Sworn Into Office on Stack of Sexually Explicit 'Banned' Books

If you've ever wondered how far the Democrat party has strayed from the Judeo-Christian values on which our country was built, look no further than Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and its new school board president, the aptly-named Karen Smith. Of course her name is Karen.

Smith, in a kooky display of leftist nonsense, recently opted to take the oath of office on a stack of "banned" books, most of which contained graphic sexual content that is grossly inappropriate for the schoolchildren she was swearing to serve. And her husband stood there goofily holding the pile of smut, while a crowd of onlookers smiled approvingly.

Isn't it strange how easily Karen Smith got her hands on these so-called banned books? It's almost as if they were never banned at all. Anyway, here's what the scene of sheer lunacy looked like:

That image is shameful, embarrassing, and an absolute blight on Bucks County and the people who voted to put her in office.

Did we all miss the memo about Bucks County, which has 23 schools and 17,570 students, becoming the new capital of censorship and booking banning? We did not, as only two books -- two very explicit and inappropriate books -- have been removed from school libraries at the behest of a group of educators and parents.

"Book review committees were convened to reconsider five library books, including Beyond Magenta by Susan Kuklin, Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe, Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison, Me, Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews, and This Book is Gay by Juno Dawson. Educator-led review committees included teachers, librarians, and administrators. Committees determined that two of these books, Gender Queer and This Book is Gay, should not remain in the library. As outlined by the policy guidelines, our school librarians will now work to select two books on the same subject matter to replace each of these books on shelves for students."

These books are, of course, available in bookstores and at public libraries. If a parent wants their child to read these materials, there's absolutely nothing standing in their way. In fact, they could probably get the books for free if they attend a Pink concert.

Karen Smith, who has served on the school board since 2015, said she “didn’t think too deeply about” the selection of the six books on which she took her oath, some of which she hasn't even read. Here's a taste of what Smith thought was an appropriate replacement for the Bible:

One of the books Smith placed her hand on is "Flamer," written by award-winning author and artist Mike Curato. Released in 2020, Curato's work is a semi-autobiographical graphic novel set in 1995. It tells the story of a character who is bullied at a Boy Scouts summer camp for "acting in a manner considered stereotypical of gay men." The graphic novel includes characters discussing pornography, erections, masturbation, penis size, and an illustration that depicts naked teenage boys.

Another book, "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison, tells the story of a young girl who becomes pregnant after being raped by her father. Then there's "All Boys Aren’t Blue" by George M. Johnson, a memoir about growing up gay. Smith thought it was "admirable" of the author to include sexually explicit passages that she called “intense" because it might help gay young men. Seems more predatory than stunning and brave.

In explaining why she ditched the Bible and chose instead to take her sacred oath of public service on a stack of adult reading materials, Smith said, “I’m not particularly religious. The Bible doesn’t hold significant meaning for me, and given everything that has occurred in the last couple of years, the banned books, they do mean something to me at this point."

This pretty much sums up the modern Democrat party and their far-left lurch away from morality and into depravity. The only god they serve is themselves and their radical agenda. Needless to say, none of them should be anywhere near children.
