He makes a good point.

If you’re the betting sort, Michael Avenatti, attorney for porn star/Trump mistress Stormy Daniels has a tip for you: Michael Cohen will face charges.

Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the lawyer gave his assessment of what we’re seeing played out, regarding the longtime “fixer” for Donald Trump, and the current scandal he finds himself wrapped up in:

“From what I’ve heard, from what I’ve seen, there’s no question that Michael Cohen is going to be charged,” Michael Avenatti said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “It’s only a question of when. And I think it’s going to happen within the next 90 days.”

Avenatti made a similar prediction on Monday, as the news of just how deep in the mire Cohen was, began to take shape.

Cohen’s home and office were raided by federal authorities in New York last week, after a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller. The order was signed off on by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

According to federal prosecutors, Cohen has been under investigation for months. The goal of the raid was to uncover information regarding the payments to Avenatti’s client, Stormy Daniels, as well as to former Playboy model, Karen McDougal.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, it seems.

Besides potential campaign finance violations (regarding those payoffs), he’s also being investigated for possible wire and bank fraud charges.

Cohen and his attorney’s were up in arms over audio recordings of conversations that were kept in his offices, and it now appears the FBI are in possession of those recordings.

So who was recorded and just how damning are those conversations?

It’s still early, but the anticipation is delicious!

Avenatti went on to say that President Trump has good reason to sweat, now.

“Based on my experience in white-collar criminal investigations and prosecutions, the likelihood of him not rolling over is very, very slim,” Avenatti said.

“I can’t imagine he’s going to go to trial or potentially face 10, 15, 20, 25 years in a federal penitentiary for anybody, let alone a guy, Donald Trump, who left him behind when he went to Washington, D.C.”

I don’t know that Trump “left him behind.” He may not have an official role in the administration, but he’s definitely still involved. That doesn’t mean he didn’t expect more, however, and when weighed in the balance, it may all come down to loyalty.
