You won’t be seeing Rep. Devin Nunes’ 4-page mystery memo in the immediate future.

On Monday, Republicans with the House Intelligence Committee voted to release the memo, causing Trump loyalists to soil themselves with glee.

For some reason, they think something other than speculation and rumor can be packed into 4 pages. They’d also rather see the FBI blown apart than to have Trump criticized.

Yeah. He’s that delicate.

The memo is said to be detailed accounts of top officials with the bureau saying mean things about Trump. It is also said to be woefully thin on actual evidentiary support of any of the claims.

For now, however, no date for its release has been set.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders explained on Tuesday:

“Contrary to a published report, there are no current plans to release the House Intelligence Committee’s memo,” Sanders said in a statement. “The President has not seen or been briefed on the memo or reviewed its contents.”

He hasn’t seen it, but some have reported that he’s seething behind the scenes about the reported contents of the memo.

Many Republicans have advocated for the declassification and release of the memo. The Department of Justice, however, has urged the committee not to release the memo before allowing they or the FBI to review it, in the interest of national security.

“Sadly, we expect that the president of the United States will not put the national interest over his own personal interest,” Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said Monday, suggesting that Trump is likely to approve its release.

The president has five days to approve of the release of the memo.
