To say this week has been a bad week for Democrats so far would be an understatement, especially when one considers the pathetic displays they put on during President Donald Trump's joint Congressional address Tuesday night, and how those stunts did not go over well with the American people, according to post-speech polls.

There were, of course, many lowlights among Democrats during the course of Trump's speech, among them being Rep. Al Green (D-TX) having to be escorted out of the chamber by the House Sergeant at Arms for repeated interruptions as Trump was speaking, and Democrats (save one) who refused to stand and cheer for 13-year-old brain cancer survivor DJ Daniel as Trump designated him an honorary Secret Service agent.

Not to be outdone, in the aftermath of the Tuesday night antics which included flashing paddle signs with political messaging, wearing pink to display so-called "solidarity" with women, and the Green incident, one House Democrat made matters worse during the Wednesday House Oversight Committee hearing on sanctuary cities.

As we reported, the hearing did not go well for Democrats, with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson repeatedly demonstrating why his approval rating among Windy City residents is at a frosty seven percent. Further, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston got lit up for his role in allowing a dangerous member of the Tren de Aragua gang to be released rather than turned over to ICE per ICE's request.

Perhaps it was things going off the rails quickly for those Democrats that prompted Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) to use his time during the hearing to talk about egg prices and to suggest that more people cared about that than they did dangerous criminal illegal immigrants roaming free in our country:

“President Trump, if you’re watching this hearing, I respectfully ask when will egg costs be high enough for you to issue one executive order on bird flu? $10 a carton? $15 a carton? It will soon be cheaper to buy a magazine for an AK-47 than breakfast. This is flat out wrong,” Krishnamoorthi said, including a poster comparing the two items behind him.

The lawmaker made the remarks while asking the Democratic mayors if his constituents were more worried about immigration or the price of eggs.

I dunno about y'all but if Trump could eradicate the bird flu simply by signing an executive order declaring it to be so, that would be pretty darned impressive. That said, I'm like a lot of people in not recalling one single instance of a Democrat, including the Schiff-praising Illinois Congressman, yelling about egg prices under former President Joe Biden:
