It’s not often that a new president comes into office in the middle of a pandemic, but Joe Biden did.
But when Biden took office in January 2021, he didn’t have to start from scratch nor did he have to craft a game plan to deal with the coronavirus. He was gifted with coronavirus vaccines that were made and approved for distribution thanks in no small part to former President Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” program. Along with that, a vaccine distribution plan was already in place at such a level that the Biden team only needed to fine-tune it primarily due to minor differences in opinions on dispensation specs between the prior vaccine task force and the incoming one.
Despite all that, senior officials in the Biden administration including Biden and Kamala Harris repeatedly lied in the first weeks of their time in office, saying in interviews and when asked questions about the coronavirus outbreak that they weren’t reaching their vaccination goals as quickly as they’d have liked to because the Trump administration allegedly left them no vaccine rollout plan and that Biden was having to “start from scratch.”
At times, media golden boy Dr. Anthony Fauci – Biden’s senior medical advisor – as well as other top medical officials in his administration, had to walk back the false claims made by Biden and Harris, primarily because it was those same senior medical officials who were admittedly involved in the decision-making and planning on both the vaccine and the rollout for it in 2020.
Here we are 16 months in and the Biden administration is still lying about the coronavirus vaccine.
As we reported earlier, a tweet sent out from the White House account Thursday proclaimed “When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available“:
When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available.
In the last 15 months, the economy has created 8.3M jobs and the unemployment rate stands at 3.6% — the fastest decline in unemployment to start a President's term ever recorded.

It was an egregious lie, especially considering the fact that not only were Joe Biden and Kamala Harris both fully vaccinated (which was two shots at the time) before they were sworn in (the above photo shows Biden getting his second dose shortly before his inauguration), but the Trump administration also had a rolling average of 913,000 vaccinations per day by the time Trump left office. And, per Bloomberg, almost 983,000 doses a day were given the week Biden was sworn in.
The lie was so bad that even CNN’s Daniel Dale and the WaPo’s Glenn Kessler, who are usually busy running interference for Democrats – including on their vaccine claims, called them out on it. Kessler even went so far as to urge the White House to delete the tweet.
But the White House didn’t delete the tweet. And, not surprisingly, Twitter didn’t even slap a “misinformation” or “misleading” label on the tweet, as they would have immediately in the event a Republican put out a similar tweet. Instead, what the White House did was pile on the fail by claiming they “misstated that vaccines were unavailable in January 2021”:
We previously misstated that vaccines were unavailable in January 2021. We should have said that they were not widely available.
Vaccines became available shortly before the President came into office. Since then, he’s responsible for fully vaccinating over 200 million people. https://t.co/rHJ0GZ63Dy

Except it wasn’t merely a “misstatement” – it was an outright lie, just like the lies they made at the start about being given no plan to work with on rolling out the vaccine.
The fact of the matter is that if it wasn’t for Trump fast-tracking the vaccines via OWS and his team putting a comprehensive rollout plan in place to pass off to the incoming administration, Joe Biden would have had a much harder time getting to where he is now on his “fully vaccinated” numbers. Instead of thanking the Trump administration for their hard work, the Biden White House has repeatedly dumped on them and continues to try and take all the credit for the successes they’ve had which, again, would not have been possible had it not been for the team that did all the hard work before them.
Typical Democrats, wanting to bask in all the glory without having to do any of the heavy lifting and in this case especially because they don’t want to be seen as giving credit to the dreaded Orange Man. So pathetic, but this just who they are, so we shouldn’t be too surprised.
