According to Bush’s spokesperson, Jim McGrath, the 41st president “feels terrific, and is buoyed by regular visits from his family and phone calls with friends such as VP Dan Quayle today.”

The former president has been fighting illness this year but has managed to make an appearance at the Super Bowl to throw the coin toss.
